I need to plan on doing some work to my kitchen drains soon. The glazed drain hopper thing buried in the ground is broken, and one of the pipes from the kitchen is cracked and leaking. All in all it means there is water in an area where I don't want water. I need to maybe take up some slabs and replace the hopper, and also repair the plastic pipes. I'm exhausted by the thought at the moment.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

It is just unfair when life just keeps throwing rubbish! Just one month with nothing extra would be so appreciated, I have everything crossed Sept will be the month!1

Thank goodness it is Friday! Pizza in the oven, cat snuggling on my lap, and a can of cider leftover from camping is rapidly disappearing.
This weekend I am going to try to plant some seeds that I would like ready for next year. Everything I planted in the spring (except the sweetpeas) has been pretty rubbish and not thrived at all, so I want to try again. I'm going to invest in some better compost though, as the other stuff was rubbish.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

Have had chilled morning on sofa catching up with some diaries. Housemate has updated me about progress for rent, as there has been a wages delay leading to a rent delay. Hoping that can be resolved sooner rather than later, as I really don't want to have a squatter situation and have to go to defcon5 and change locks or any nonsense like that.
Just looked up defcon, and actually level 1 is the most severe and 5 the most relaxed. Who knew?
Right, should go get on with the day. Seeds to plant, plumbing to evaluate, plumbing bodges to consider and try until I can afford to repair properly.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

I've been having so many weird dreams recently. None last night, but over the last week things like:
- My parents telling me to go get into dirty clothes to help with painting a huge wood-frame house they were doing up. I couldn't find the clothes they wanted, and I got angry at being talked to like a child.
- A workman coming to repair the bit of my dining room that I need to decorate
- Being pregnant and comparing with other friends who are pregnant. This one is especially weird as I have no intention of having kids.
The really strange bit is even remembering the dreams, as I very rarely remember my dreams usually.
Today I have a nice treat of work providing lunch, so I don't need to make a sandwich. Best get a move on.

I have very strange dreams too. Painting seems to be a theme for you 😁 My last clear one was me running around my old school, not knowing my schedule or which class I should be in. The corridors were all empty as everyone else was in their lessons. No wonder I was panicking, I would have been nearly 40 yrs late 😅Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Ugh, that sounds like a really stressful dream WW. I think the theme for me is DIY in general. I've always got projects on the go.
I'm feeling ridiculously spiky and irritable with housemate. I don't know if it is going to dissipate when he (hopefully) catches up with rent. As a result I am trying to avoid him as much as I can so I don't get snappy. Probably doesn't help that work is feeling a little stressful at the moment. I have to trust my colleagues and a couple aren't behaving in a very trustworthy manner.
Trying to ease stress by going for a nice walk this evening instead.Save £12k in 2025 #33 £2531.77/£5000 (If this carries on I might have to up my target!)

I’m not surprised you feel that way. You got a lodger to help you and instead seem to have gained a dependant! I would be furious. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

How rude of the lodger, I would be cross too. I would be mortified to not pay my rent to anyone, let alone be buying wine instead of offering something in the meantime! I hope he sorts himself out!1
