So glad to hear your news, Valli xx
Glad you have the DLA sorted, Pigpen.
Have cooked dinner, dropped DD in small town for an evening with her friends, come home to WULTD, tidy kitchen and make tomorrow’s lunch. Will be trekking back to small town to pick DD up later. That will make 3 return trips there today. So much for saving petrol, but then the last bus was over 3 hours ago!

Hi all
Wonderful news Valli,
Tough day at the paid stuff, I am having issues with a colleague, she has this certain way of sniping at me in meetings that makes it really hard for me to respond. And everyone loves her. Sigh.
I am getting a pay rise, but it comes with extra responsibility that I am not sure I want. I have no choice so just have to keep turning up and doing my best.
Tired and headachy tonight. Tomorrow is another day. Not much flying done but I did make two shepherds pies this morning so there are leftovers for the freezer. Oh and I cycled in to work so that saved a bit of diesel.

Hi all - hope everyone is doing ok!
Wonderful news Valli - so pleased for you
Also great to hear about all the other good stuff - improving babies, DLA claim success, weight loss and more...at last, news to celebrate!
No real flying here today as we had a power cut from 9am until 4pm and I was required to referee disgruntled children who were unable to watch TV, listen to music, play on the PS5, watch YouTube or use any other form of electrically powered device.
Shock! Horror! They had to play football outside, read books and play board games lol
Consequently I am knackered.
Until tomorrow....x9 -
Thanks for all your kind comments
My friend. who has moved out of her house while building work goes on, has volunteered at my work today and is helping with admin' she's done a great job.

Morning all. Coffee time!
Today I have
- unloaded the DW
- S&S'd kitchen
- S&S'd bathroom
- made the beds
- checked DH's operation scar and found a clip/staple that had been left in when the others were removed before he was discharged - oops- made him ring the GP surgery immediately for an appointment tomorrow (he may have to get there by bus, if DS1 is otherwise engaged)
- wanted to start a small load in the WM, hunted round for a few bits to make up the full load, but have ended up with 4 loads in total, including winter jackets
- threw out a broken long reach grabber from DH's room
- decluttered all the papers off the spare bed: filed / shredded / binned as appropriate
- started my August cull of old paperwork and shredded some financial stuff dating back to 2015.
Still aspiring to
- send a couple more emails before...
- ...lunch
- do some batch cooking
- bake cake to pay DS1
- pick all the beans and pull up the plants - they're covered in nasty blackfly
- plant out the strawberries and antirrhinums into the (by now empty) pots
- walk Rosie
- cook tea
- water all the pots again
- finish packing my bag
- get an early night.
It's doable

Oooh, Happy Birthday Squeak! I hope everyone enjoys your cake and you enjoy your presents.
Lots done today, but quite a bit still not done (yet), and steam appears to be a rare commodity in this house atm.8 -
Wonderful news Valli xx
Happy Birthday Squeak 🎂 xx
I can smell the weekend woot woot.
Thank you Jazee and iona for info re: a master plan. I don't have deadlines to work to but some S.M.A.R.T. goals are tootling round my brain(cell)(s).
I've brought in the emptied bins and I'll change the water in the bird bath and hedgehogs dish when I water my geraniums and the hanging basket.
Have a lovely evening

Eugh Round you have reminded me I have got staff appraisals coming up which means setting SMART goals for my little team because the big bosses like that sort of stuff.
DS was at our house when I got home from the paid stuff and threw me into a spin wanting help with laundry and sorting camping stuff for his weekend away, oh and he needed feeding quickly before he went to cricket. Bless him he brought his own laundry liquid and fabric conditioner because he says everything is getting so expensive and its enough that we let him use our washing machine when the one at home is being used by someone else.
Curry for tea, kitchen tidied, DW on. Work is tricky. I have a nasty feeling the colleague I am having issues with lied about something to make me look like I didnt do something properly, but I cant prove it. I need to handle this very carefully.
But it's Friday tomorrow, and I am working from home, and I dont need to do a full day.9
