Very pleased to hear your good news, Valli xx
After posting yesterday, I had an almost completely non-productive day, with lots of zzz. I think the hills in the forest wore me out on Monday - DH was fine n the Tramper! Feeling better this morning, but will take things slowly.
The rain has put paid to my plan to hang out the already washed washing, so I am back to my indoor list, but the Internet is playing up...8 -
Morning all. Great news @Valli. Happy belated birthdays to tiny @Dizzy_Imp and little @Deleted_User. Sorry to hear your are still having problems with CF, @oigpen.
Been awake since 4am! One year old was moving around a lot in his sleep and i could hear it through the monitor. Baby brother still in hospital, but improved enough to be on a ward, at last.
Have rolled out pastry for mini quiches and 24 jam tarts. Watered in the polytunnel. DW on for first time today, probably need three more. Five children dressed and fed. Need more coffee now.
Spent two hours yesterday afternoon, watching the commonwealth games, with two sleeping babies on my lap. I think the collective noun for this should be a slumber of babies.
Sun is shining here today, good after two days of rain.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.10 -
Lovely to hear news of baby's progress, mumtoomany. A slumber of babies sounds just right - wish my grandchildren were still small enough to sleep on my lap x
The sun has now come out and the forecast shows decreasing chances of rain, so the washing will go out as soon as I've showered and dressedThe garden has already soaked up the shower it got earlier.
Other jobs to be done today:
- wash towels
- hoover through (especially Rosie's fluff in the study)
- email DS1, my boss, friend in India, and various other people
- pack up a parcel
- file a load of paperwork
Question: if I buy a pay-as-you-go Sim card for a rarely used phone, how often will I have to top up to keep it active? (not necessarily because my credit has run out)9 -
Mumtoomany.. so pleased baby is improving ((hugs))
Valli.. Great newsI am so relieved for you all and hopefully the treatment will sort any residual naughties. ((hugs))
Iona.. You have to use the sim once every 90 days or it expires. Top ups are valid for 1 year from date of purchase.

Hi, @ionafan. I have a pay as you go with Vodafone. I top up every 3 or 4 years. They message me every so often to remind me to use the phone every 6 months or they'll turn it off. So i ring OH, usually in the same room. HTH, mumtoomany.xxx

Thank you, mumtoomany. A quick search on MSE has revealed that there are umpteen variations on a theme, so I will enlist DS1's help in deciding what will be best.

Evening all.
Great news Valli.
Today I have been to paid stuff, interviewing people, I always feel really nosy.
Anyway, did dailies with DHs help, walked dogs at the crack of dawn and flicked the duster on a stick round the rest of the house.
Guess what? Tomorrow is another day!Spend less now, work less later.9
