Morning all.
No, Round, I haven’t been abducted by aliens and driven to flying. Heavens to Betsy, no such thing! I cba to drag myself super early from bed, after yet another night in the WAC. Finally thought that I ought to face the day. And guess what, it is wall to wall sunshine again. Being a cold loving mortal at heart, this is a tad distressing, especially when the ironing pile is staring at me in a disappointed fashion.
I have, leapt into action by watering the allotment first thing, come home with some cut flowers (one of my aims a couple of years ago was to grow flowers for picking, partially successful), spinach, courgette / summer squash, a few French beans. Nothing like the usual abundance, as it has been so hard to get anything to actually start growing, let alone grow enough to keep us in veg for the year.
Coffee and a cheeky Danish scoffed.
I promised DD that I would get some bread going, so had better start that, then maybe have serious words with the ironing pile.
Iona - take it easy x
Round - hmmm cacklefart, eh? Nothing worse than a broken one of those 😉.
Have a lovely day all xx7 -
had another dressing appointment yesterday - and a 40 minute appointment with the oncologist which was ... draining.
basically outline of treatment. As far as they are concerned they've got it - so the chemo and radiotherapy are to mop up any strays. But it was a lot to take in. 6 x 3 week cycles, once I'm ready to roll.
So it's highly likely I wont be able to join my friend on her weekend away for her 60th but it is what it is.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

(((Hugs))) Jazee and gentle strokes to Littleydog xx
Valli, book another weekend with your friend as soon as you can x
I've decided that life is too short to procrastinate on enjoyable things (ironing can wait, but family and friends can't), so have already broached the idea with DH of going to visit DS2 et al next week, (we can stay in a hotel if they haven't unpacked the gust room by then - just need to see and hug them) and other friends near our old hometown the following week. Might even call on DH's cousins while we're driving in that direction.
Round and Fayolle, you lovely ladies make me laugh

Valli that sounds positive but just be kind to yourself, one step at a time, and yes definitely pencil in another trip away with your friend. Hugs Jazee x
DS1 and GF are away camping, they wanted us to go with them but DSs idea of a weekend away is to spend, and we cant really afford it. Half of me is glad we were sensible, the other half wishes we were there. We are going away for a few days with DS2 in September which will be quite costly, and I keep thinking about winter and the need to be frugal.
DH went to work so I have thrown myself into flying. Feel a bit odd and light-headed, not sure if this is some anxiety thing. Going to tackle the utility room, DS loo and my office, which then means the whole house has had a going over.10 -
Evening all
Glad the news is positive Valli, good luck for the next steps x

We’ve already discussed a holiday…both of us are redheads so don’t really do heat/sun/beach so we need to go somewhere where there’s something to see. Having said that my sister went on a cruise with 3 friends and loved it…
had a very “pottering” day. DD went to see the aged peas and on an errand and I stayed home and tidied the kitchen including WUDPA…and I hate the drying but I was fed up with witnessing teetering pots. I also ironed everything, put stuff away and folded shopping bags and things look much better. When DD came home I strimmed while she was on tiny frog watch (ie making sure it kept out of my way) then she mowed. I also changed my bedding. Takeaway for tea…while I still can.
excelkent flingage this week … sent the pod coffee machine and all accessories to DS’s as it wasn’t being used.

Up with WAC on Littleydog duty. Just waiting for DH to possibly wake up and take over but he was up with her all last night so I could get some sleep for looking after baby.
There are fig rolls in the tin tonight should anyone want them.
So plans/aspirations for tomorrow are to spend the morning pottering in the garden, make a fruit salad, walk Poppet, hoover through and then go out with family for afternoon. DH is staying home with Littleydog.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all
No children here this weekend so naturally I’ve been awake for ages. Chickens out and fed. DW unloaded, recycling sorted. Now having a brew and a cookie 🍪
Need to race through a small list of niggly jobs today then I really want to read and nap later. Very busy week ahead.
Big hugs to Littleydog xx
Valli we went on a cruise of the Fjords and absolutely loved it, would highly recommend.Has anyone here visited the Isle of Man? Have an opportunity to go, wondered what it’s like?Have fab days all x9
