Chase UK App problem

This would not normally be an automatic decline, the terminal should instruct you to insert your card. Yes cards will periodically require you to PIN verify transactions as a security measure. Clearly it should not decline for a C&P transaction if you get your PIN right if the only reason you couldn't use contactless is you've reached a limit.SAC2334 said:Just to update why my card was declined at Tesco s and Sainsburys .Digging deeper into the activity it did say that I have reached my contactless limit and to reset it I have to use the chip and pin.I was nt aware of contactless limits but the cashier did ask me to use the chip and pin and it still declined so I used another card

Or ApplePay or SamsungPay, or even Google WalletBigwheels1111 said:
Google pay is the way to go.Never used the physical card in 4 months, only Google pay. So never had any issues.0 -
If you use abroad I've read Google pay will handle the exchange rate, not Chase. I've looked into it and it seems there isn't an option to let the card handle the exchange rate.Bigwheels1111 said:

My passport is almost 20 years out of date, so not an issue for me.jimexbox said:

I’ve got into a bad habit of only carrying my phone and door keys when I go out.
With a £20 note in the phone case.
Google wallet takes care of the rest.0 -
Just double-checked my transactions from France two weeks ago and the exchange rates are similar on transactions both via Google Pay and via Chase physical card, so unless Google Pay handles exchange rates at the Mastercard rate, it is the underlying card that controls the rate, in my experience.jimexbox said:

Were you charged in euros or sterling on Google pay app? Did you the app give you a choice of currency?
Like you said maybe the card used on Google pay handles the exchange rate. There isn't a lot of information about.

All transactions in Euros.
No options given in Google Pay. Just presented phone and usual tick and ping, just like home.1
