Shez...Believe me my house looked nothing like saturday kitchen yesterday. If I was presenting that show they would have had to use the bleep machine A LOT.:rotfl: And if I hadn't left it all so late I wouldn't have had to do it all at once.
Still....Lunch was a success and good craic. I fell asleep on the sofa within 5 minutes of them leaving, but was rudely awakened by OH and the girls screaming that the cat was on fire. Sure enough there was a strong smell of burned fur and puss was sleeping a little too close to the candle. She has a burned patch of fur but appears to be none the wiser.
OH has brought me a Baileys and I'm waiting for SCD to come on. Taking the rest of the day off before it all starts again tommorrow. I'm glad everyone seems to be having a good day.
Have a lovely evening.

Our DD left home first (only local) and when DS left to go to Ireland quite a major thing in our lives. He had had a relationship with his partner for 5 years so it was time for him to move over. However, he totally hibernated the week before he went. It was a major commitment in his life and he I think was scared, he cried the night before he went because he was frightened he would miss us too much. I told him that he loved his partner and that is where he had to go and he had to move on. We are only a flight away and as you know we are so much in touch. However, despite being 26 when he left we just totally kept reassuring him that we would here for whatever reason!
I am sure your son will be fine. He will probably soon realise the benefits of his own house rules!!!!!!!!!
I found it difficult when DS moved away because it was both of them forging their way in life and just DH and me. However, deep inside I knew this was the natural progression of things! Is this not why we have children and hope they forge their independence?
He will be fine, honest!

I can't imagine what it will be like when DDs move out. Thankfully I don't have to think about that for a while. DDs have got it sorted though - DD1 assures me I can live with her and DD2 thinks the old people's home round the corner looks lovely :rotfl:
Hope you're feeling okay taplady. I know mom found it difficult when we all left home and it was just her and dad on their own.

Evening folks,
Had a lovely day - OH and I went to the Eden Project - they have just won a grant for £50million to build a new biome, so it was free entry for the weekend. I have never been before and thought it was really good. We went ice skating, had lunch and OH bored some poor staff member senseless by telling them ALL about the bio-fuel production he will be starting in the new year (he has a diesel van)
We had a panic this morning as he thought he had lost his wallet - after searching the house, cars, next door etc, we found it at his friends house - he INSISTED he did not have it when he went there, but I knew that's where it would be
As there is no work next week, I figured if I write a big long list, get up early and plan my day perfectly, I'll get a phone call asking me to come in. So that's what I've done - it has 20 things on it already.
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Hope you're feeling okay taplady. I know mom found it difficult when we all left home and it was just her and dad on their own.
