    Getting back to the OP requirements.

    Not keen(time) on opening up and looks like relatively basic use cases.

    That's what points to review of full tower.

    With the budget a relatively new box of any size will have spare warranty to get it fixed.

    Because they connect to virtual machines in a data centre, the power of the mini PC doesn't affect performance. You can run an 8 core 32 GB + GPU virtual PC on a Celeron / Pentium based thin client with 1-2GB ram and it will run just like an 8 core 32 GB + GPU regardless.
    I hadn’t realised quite how thin they are! They sound like they are very close to the old 'dumb terminals'. 

    I had wrongly thought that some users might have to load up several different programs, although the main processing would be done at the server end. 


    No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
