Cheap PVC panels do look cheap.
I tend to agree. I’ve not seen them in person but I think they use a hollow structure and are lightweight.
There’s plenty of colours and patterns available on the bathroomcladding site and are cheap at around £8.99 each panel.
Having had another look and bearing in mind that ceramic tiles are obviously solid, the Dumawall range on there looks good and easy to cut and fit. Hard wearing too.
Large format rather than long panels and 5mm depth.
Packs of eight though which could mean
spending another £100 just for a couple more tiles.

Not for me, better with large format tiles.
plus would also recommend fitting a classi-seal around the bath with having a shower over it.

Good idea about classi-seal. Seen it before but had forgotten.
I think I need to weigh up the pros & cons of either option.
Given the time it’s taking, I’d more likely get a tiler to install ceramic tiles and maybe a plumber to put the already purchased Triton shower in.
I’m considering panels as I can fit those myself and the shower too.

What is the pipe and electric cable for?
    Electric shower
I asked because the cable looks like 2.5T+E.  Maybe it’s just the photo.
    It’s 6mm cable.
I'm sure you've already thought of this, but be careful with 6mm cable. You are limited to the power of the electric shower. Off the top of my head, with 6mm you need a 9kw or lower rated shower. I had a 10kw rated on a 6mm, it failed the EICR. Most annoying, had to replace the shower, but hey-ho...

    Thanks.
Yes, have looked into that. Fitting an 8.5kw shower as was fitted before.

Where are you currently with the bathroom? Bath plumbed in, plastered? I know I’ve mentioned before but there is nothing beyond most peoples capabilities, especially tiling. We’re on the final stages of ours. if you go for large format as plumb suggests, it won’t take that long. Plus you can fiddle about with tanking/those classi seals etc.

Just decide the finish you want to go for and you can get the advice and pointers you need to do a good job. I wouldn’t panel just because you think they are easier and the only feasible option for diy- I guess is the point I’m trying to make.

Bath is plumbed in. All plastered and painted.
Next is cladding/tiling the shower area with something that looks good.
Then floor/skirting followed by loo and basin/splash back.
Lastly fit electric towel rail (all electric property) and fan heater.

We were considering either the wall panels or tiles for our shower area. We went and had a look at the Linda Barker panels in person and honestly I didn’t like them at all. I can see the benefits for keeping them clean but they just look and feel cheap to me. We’re opting for porcelain tiles instead.

You might have a different opinion of course but I’d definitely recommend checking them out in person.

    Thanks.
I’m nipping up to Topps Tiles soon to take a look. Will take a sample of the wall paint I used to help choose.

If you think you could fit wall panels, you should be capable tiling.
prime the walls ( not pva) . Have the cuts in the corner.
If using ceramic tiles the ready mixed adhesive will be ok, if porcelain use  powered adhesive .

Topps is pricey but good to have a look and get some ideas. If you reverse image search some of their ranges if you do like anything, you may find them cheaper. That said I bought one type of tile we ended up using in ours, from there, at a slightly eye watering 90 quid per sq m. The only other supplier was based abroad with a long lead time…but was significantly cheaper.
