As above, not all cards/banks support the different payment apps (Barclaycard has its own).
But you should be able to enable multiple apps if all cards are required, and switch between them as required. Does diminish the slickness of paying with mobile, but useful for the odd occasion!.
Also be aware that using mobile to pay uses the NFC 'radio' chip in your phone, so some cases can conflict, e.g if the case has card slots with contactless cards in it!
To pay with Google Pay you simply have to have the phone unlocked. How does it work if you have the Barclaycard app installed as well. Do you have to set one of the apps as the default?
Thanks
You either need to change the default payment app in the settings on your phone
NFC - contactless payments
In advance of using the different payment app
In theory you can instead choose Except when another payment app is open, (and then obviously open the Barclaycard app and the mobile unlocked), but the Barclaycard app seems to object if it isn't the default. I have not tried this method. And not sure how this works if you have no signal as described in the post above.
FWIW I have my Bank of Scotland (BoS) debit card associated with Google Pay (GPay), and my Barclaycard credit card associated with the Barclaycard app (although I haven't enabled contactless in the app yet). GPay is the default so when I contactless with my phone it debits from the BoS card.
