Lovely to see you asb. Rosie is a bit itchy too - I think it's from the dust thrown up from the unmetalled lane at the back of our house.
Sorry to hear that Covid has paid an unwanted visit to your family, YL - hope it goes away pronto x
The physios somehow managed to miss DH off their list yesterday, but the consultant said that - subject to a good assessment result - he can be discharged today. We saw the x-ray of his hip yesterday and he has an impressive piece of metal holding him up. I'm thinking of trying to persuade him that if he can't get more physio through the horse piddle or GP surgery, it might be worth him spending a bit of money on private appointments to get moving properly again. He is a lazy so-and-so where exercise is concerned!
I am fairly shattered after a week of mostly hotter weather than I like, stress over DH, losing about 3 hours to visiting every day, and not sleeping very well, but the house has mostly kept itself tidy, and I can even see most of the spare bed and the top of my desk!
So far this morning I have
- drunk 2 cuppas
- sorted the cupboard above the oven where I keep plastic boxes: none have ever melted up there, and it's safer if one of them falls on my head than if it were a tin or bottle
- decluttered some very old and bent foil pie dishes that no longer merit a space: I used to use them for hm apple pies, but now I just freeze the cooked down apples and use them in crumbles - much easier and quicker to make than pastry, and I often make a big batch of crumble topping, freeze it and use it from frozen
- put the bagless thingy on charge - how did I forget to do that yesterday? I had put it back in its proper place but not plugged it in
- done a 5-minute tidy round to make space for DH's bags which will doubtless get dumped on the DR table when he comes home
- watered the veg and the flower pots on the decking while everything is still in shade for another hour or so
- stroked Rosie (who has nearly stopped moulting - yay!)
- rewritten my aspirations list for the rest of the morning
I mustn't forget my hair appointment at 9.30.
Hope you all have a fair Friday. Sending get-back-home-today vibes to Valli xx6 -

Valli.. speedy 'coming home' vibes for youI need to deflea the furry bellies.. I only have one who complains the others don't mind and 2 don't even wake up usually.Girls flung at school. Squeak went all day yesterday without messaging me but I think she has been colouring on an app on her phone rather than having friends to chat to.. the 3 littlies find out which teacher they have next year today so we shall see how that goes.. last year Dot threw a major meltdown.
The first part of Dot autism assessment is Monday so we should have the new report by the time she goes back to school in September. I am not hugely confident an online assessment is a good thing. I need to make houseroom for these 2 wardrobes.. I an thinking the sofa in the middle room needs to go and they can both go in there until the kitchen is ready for them.
Still lots of washing to trudge through.. all of Dots bedding is going through today. I might do mine too. I love clean bedding.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -
Hello everyone.
Work shift done, dailies done, nice long dog walk as it is cooler done.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
I may have misled you - I've been home since Saturday..I was going back today to have the electronic PICO dressings removed - which they have been. I haven't had to have a new set (of pico dressings), the boobs are doing well (and the great trek south appears to have been reversed) there's just been a slight reaction in the armpit. the 'paper stitches' have been renewed and the wound re-covered. Back in on Thursday to have them checked again.

Glad all is progressing well Valli.

That's good news, Valli x
DH is being assessed. He can manage steps and doesn't have to do stairs, but his armchair is far too low and he also needs frames fitted round the toilets. The man from the Community Equipment Service has just rung, and apparently everything DH needs will be delivered this afternoon so he can be discharged asap.
I have had my hair cut short (on no.3) and have bought food for the coming week. Whoever designed the new hinged chiller cabinet doors in MrAl's needs to go shopping on a Friday morning when all the old ladies are fighting each other to get to the F&V and meat!9 -
Update: DH is staying in for another night as a blood test was not done today.9

Iona.. at least he will be slightly more healed tomorrow.. and chance to get his equipment in situ. Make the most of your time before you become the nurse again
Pixie is utterly devasted. Her one friend she has been besties with since nursery is going into a different class next year.. why the heck do the teachers do that?? It is utterly cruel. Her friend is super upset too.. I would ask them to move Pixie but the friend is in dots class and they will not put Dot and Pixie in the same class and I wouldn't expect them too.
Dot is hysterical because she is having to move class (the teacher couldn't cope with Samuel and Dot in the same class.. they wind each other up.. when one has a meltdown they both do, when one gets over excited they both go crazy..Twinkle has the most feeble teacher I have ever come across.. Progress will not be made.. She is way more stubborn than the teacher. Her report says she refuses to work when she doesn't want to, has the attention span of a gnat and cannot actually be bothered with learning and just doesn't want to.With her 90% attendance!! She had the best part of a month off with flu and the rona and then chickenpox and a nasty cold.. she has not had a good year!More washing done and hung out.. 2 more loads to go out.. and Dots bed to make up.DW reloaded and needs a third runMoomin and C are away at a festival tomorrow (not a proper one they are staying in a hotel!! .. too posh for mud!) so we are getting the bed put up and the rest of the room cleaned.. and maybe squeeze another chest of drawers in there.

Hi all
Iona when DS fell off a horse and tore his shoulder muscles we ended up paying for private physio and it was so much better than what the NHS could offer. Hope Mr Ionafan is home tomorrow.
Sounds like good progress is being made Valli, much love.
Poor Pixie Pigpen I dont get why they dont put kids in a class with their friends, it must make life easier for everyone.
DS1 has to have an endoscopy which involves swallowing a video camera in a capsule and being monitored for 11 hours while it works its way through, he doesnt know about this yet but is going to be thrilled about it. Sounds like something out of a Sci-Fi film. They still cant decide what to do about his Crohn's.
Long but good day at the paid stuff, tired now, trying to get a bit more sleep on a night which does make me feel better. Cycling with my ladies group in the morning. Not much flying done but I will catch up over the weekend.9
