Well done to all who have flown in this heat.
A few drops of rain fell here today, but my 2 loads of washing (where does it all come from?) dried well.
K came and helped me make up both beds, which was so much easier than doing it on my own or with DH's "assistance". In return I gave her cake and helped with sorting out her temporary council tax increase. How people who are on UC and work flexible hours are supposed to budget, I do not know - it is a ghastly financial trap.
DH is still in Critical Care, but only because there is no bed for him yet in Orthopaedics. They have been trying to get rid of him for more than 48 hours. Once he is on the normal ward, the physioterrorists will finally be able to start his rehab and get him moving around more freelyI'm not expecting him home now until Thursday at the earliest, which will give me a chance to go to a meeting tomorrow evening with a speaker from the Air Ambulance. I feel fortunate that we have never had to call on that - though as I took an enforced diversion on my way home from seeing DS2 on Sunday, I saw our local one land in a nearby field. Thankfully no fatalities in the RTA, but 4 injured, according to the local paper.
Rosie and I kept as cool as possible during the hottest part of today but managed a slow walk to the woods this evening. I can't see it being much cooler tomorrow, so be kind to yourselves xx9 -
More things off my planned list:
- did drum practice
- downloaded the tax year's bank transactions and have started sorting into my usual categories in Excel. It's time-consuming but I have several years' worth of doing it so I have all the headings etc to hand.
Also:
- paid credit card
- paid professional subscription
- watered greenhouse
- picked French beans and mangetout peas for dinner
- did some more planning/map reading for next week's hols.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Morning all.
Back to work today. Dogs have been walked and essential parts of garden watered.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
Watering done.
I might not get to the Air Ambulance meeting tonight as I've been offered a ticket for this afternoon's performance of DGD1+2's show - it would be rude not to accept (and I take every opportunity to see them) but it will push back hospital visiting and Rosie's walk.
Hope everyone has a good day. Cloudy again here...

I've done a bit (i promise) of very gentle weed pulling - anything that put up the merest hint of resistance is still in situ.
Bed stripped and airing.
Friend brought round new bra so I can wash this one tonight.
Other bra, now too big, washed and ready to go to small for all.
Plaster/pico removal (Smith and Nephew, Piggers) now put back to Friday.
Mum has been with a card with cash shoved in it as I already have flowers :rotfl:Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
