Sorry you are exhausted and in pain.
Irritating that your expensive pans were damaged. Lovely you had enough vouchers to put towards new. Sounds like you got a nice haul overall.

Thank you SH - it was nothing a little rest and a hot bath couldn't cure.
There were a few 'small tragedies' around the house as the Sunflowers put it during their stay but it was just the result of people living. There is a small knick out of one of my dining room cupboards as a result of one of these but it makes me smile when I see it as it reminds me of a happy time. I don't mind my furniture having a few laughter lines 😁

When Mr F and I first moved in together, the house came with an integrated dishwasher. Unfortunately it was a very poor quality model and only worked for one wash 😢 I'd been so excited about it as I'd never owned a dishwasher before and it was such a disappointment. It's a luxury of course but one I'd rather not do without 😆
I have some D£nby cookware too and that just keeps going and going. Such good value with the vouchers.

Proper Weekend
It's been a largely good weekend 😁 Mr F wanted to go out on a 'hike' on Saturday so I packed him and FDawg a lunch and sent them off into the great outdoors. I would have gone with them if the plan was for a gentle stroll in the country but Mr F's 'hikes' are generally very physical and my shoulder is still a bit sore.
Whilst they were out I got some chores done and spent an hour and a half sorting out the veg patch. Then spent the afternoon in a nice hot bubble bath catching up on my favourite TV shows 😁
I made Roasted Squash Risotto with Wensleydale for supper. Then we settled down in front of the log burner with a bottle of red and watched a film.
A very relaxing and restorative day.
However, FDawg barked in the night and I heard Mr F get up to him. In the morning I discovered that FDawg must have eaten something whilst out on his adventures which upset his tummy 😲 Let's just say my morning did not start well 😲 He was absolutely fine this morning though.
Mr F marched in the town Remembrance Parade today. I drove us into town but Mr F had fogotten to hang the special lanyard on my steering wheel which lets me know that he's secretly plugged the car in to recharge the battery 😲 So now we need a new battery charger 😠 We stayed on after the ceremony for lunch in the town hotel. It's being refurbished and the owner gave us a tour to show us how things were going. It's all very smart and a much needed update. We've been invited to the official opening 🥳
On the way home we popped into the industrial estate to pick up a couple of radiator valves as two of ours have failed - one is stuck open and one is stuck closed 🙄
We just had cheese and biscuits for supper as we were still quite full from lunch. And I'm just finishing off the open wine bottle 🤭
Today's lunch costs will be met from this month's fun money and the radiator valves from this month's contingency fund.
It feels as though we've had a proper weekend rather than one filled with work and chores. Work and chores need to be done of course but I don't think we were getting the balance right previously.
Hope your weekend has been a good one too
