    They still haven't contacted either the driver or I, so I'm hoping that they've just given up because they know that the driver can drag it out past the statute barred date.

    Hope so.  Should work.

    Let us know and please come back to do the vital Public Consultation (sure likely to be in early 2023 now).

    Quick update...
    Ten days to go.
    Neither I nor the driver has received any correspondence via either the post or by email.
    It would appear they've decided that they've spent far too much time and money on the case.
    I'll keep you informed.
    On the 16th December is there a template letter I can use to tell them to eff off as the case is statute barred?

    You don't need a template. You just need to tell them in writing after that date that since the case is now statute barred, they should cease and desist all contact with you.

    I would back up an email (sent to yourself as well) with a letter sent first class from a Post Office counter, and obtain the all-important free proof of posting.

     :)   :)   :)

    Dear Madam or Sir,

    DCB Legal Ref: blah blah blah

    PCN: blah blah blah

     With regards to this claim, please be advised of the following:

    I do not admit liability for this debt, and I do not intend to make any payments to it for the following reasons:

    ·        The earliest point at which you could have sued for the full balance owing to this debt was more than six years ago;

    ·        No payment has been made to this debt by me, any joint account-holder, or any third party acting as my agent for a period of more than six years;

    ·        No written admission of liability for this debt has been made by me for a period of more than six years.

    This debt is therefore statute barred and any court claim to recover it will be defended on this basis.

    Please confirm in writing that you will not make any further contact about the above claim and confirm that this matter is now closed.

    Please note that I shall be sending you a copy of this email in the post.

    Yours faithfully,

    I would replace "sued" with "brought a claim".

    It's actually longer than it needs to be, but it has all the salient points so no matter.

    Make sure to include any and all reference numbers.

    You should send an instruction to the DPO of the PPC stating that since it is now statute barred you require them to erase all your personal data, and instruct all their agents to do the same.

    Well done on getting this over the line.

    Thanks; I had been wondering whether to do this.

    Yay, well done!

    ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

    We sincerely hope that you are au fait with the need to respond to the final Government Public Consultation? Won't be published before Xmas, but it is imminent, so keep your eyes peeled in early 2023.

    We all need to ram the nail in the coffin of the false £70 'DRA fee' add-on, that actually funds the court claim and toxic CCJ culture, as well as the DRA gaslighting of people.

    Just checking you are among those ready to respond to the questions as you have personal experience of how this crap feels?

    Please come back here when it opens, and you can make sure you don't miss the Consultation:

    If you are not a regular reader, to be alerted you'll need to bookmark the thread by MSE_JC at the top of the forum and enable (on your profile) email alerts for bookmarked threads.

    Join us when the Consultation opens very soon.
