I sent the papers off to court and had a receipt.
This morning ive received a letter from DCBL explaining their client intends to proceed with the claim
It goes on to say without prejudice, their client may be prepared to settle this case, and if i wish to discuss, call within 7 days

Do i call and see what they are offering or go to county court?

Here is item 7 on that checklist you were following...

Which the Template Defence thread already tells you about, so it was fully expected and not something to take seriously or phone anyone about.

The next form to arrive is also fully covered in the Template Defence thread first 12 steps.

Please come back at Witness Statement and evidence stage.

You will know when that is because the NEWBIES thread tells everyone about what to expect and do, under the red capitals heading called:

No to mediation, but you now need to give a reason why not.
This should be something like, as a litigant in person you are at a disadvantage because the claimant is using a legally qualified solicitor, and you want to be able to put your points across, and the opportunity to challenge any points brought up by the other side.

    No.

This is fully covered in the NEWBIES thread, including how to answer every question on that form.  Under the red capitals heading:

    IMPORTANT: KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN

Go back to the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread and read all the info under that heading.

Only if you wish to lose the case.  Almost everyone who has posted here who has elected to have their case heard 'on the papers' has lost. Solicitors' day job is to prepare legal papers for court hearings. Can your written submissions trump theirs?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This is the normal stuff we see from DCBL

It's a pattern that starts with..

"This morning ive received a letter from DCBL explaining their client intends to proceed with the claim
It goes on to say without prejudice, their client may be prepared to settle this case"

I bet they do ...... you see, if they were 100% sure they would win, why send such junk

In english this says they have a rubbish case on their hands. What do they do with rubbish cases that will get them spanked in court .... they discontinue

What they are NOT is Enid Blyton whose best selling book was "Little Noddy Goes to Toyland"

    Then you'll lose.  Please don't.

This is fully covered in the thread by @Grizebeck from June, all about that new question.
