the additional cover of S75 alone, let alone chargebacks, up to 56 days interest free etc make credit cards far superior
CCs also offer flexibility and emergency funding which is not the case with debit cards.  That does cause some people to reach financial difficulty but, overall, I suggest, the ability to be able to fix the boiler / roof / whatever when it needs to be done is a benefit.

S75, however, while a benefit to the consumer, might well be a factor in banks making credit card less attractive.  It is an absurd potential liability on the CC for something over which they have virtually no control - really S75 should only apply where there is linked finance IMO.

I was not impressed with my Amazon credit card which is also run by New Day.  The security to get into the account online was pathetic (may have improved since) but the worst thing was that every time I went in it asked me for £5.  Even when my account was in credit.  Compared with Barclaycard which gives me a simple "no more payment is required" it was very confusing.

Only if you are an existing JLFS cardholder who has "been invited to apply". Usual JL snooty tone of voice.

Whilst you need to be an existing cardholder you don't need to wait until you're invited to apply:
You can still apply for the new Partnership Card, even if you have not received your invitation with the Unique Reference Code. In that case we will just need a few more details to get you going

As far as NewDay are concerned, the new £2.2k credit is in addition to the old card £10k credit

This is spot on, and is going to be a common problem I think.
