ParkingEye CCJ Letter!

I am now being quoted £2k for car insurance instead of £500, it's insane as I can't afford this for the next 5 years! How can I alleviate some of this pressure?eits1000 said:
Looks like I got very confused about what you told me not to do and to do. So I paid it. I was thinking maybe those companies could say I never got the letters and paid it anyway, then I found out randomly That I had a ccj. Maybe we can argue I didn't even know about it as the letters never reached me?Coupon-mad said:
No because we specialise in it free of charge and I think that would be money down the drain because yours is a satisfied CCJ.eits1000 said:Hi, I'm now 18 months into my ccj and it's costing me dearly with regards to car insurance quotes going through the roof! Is there any point trying to get the ccj removed by using one of those companies that specialise in this for £300? Thanks for any advice.
There's no leverage now. The third party company can't get the Claimant to agree to anything because you paid it without asking for 'consent to set aside' at the time.
You could have used your payment as leverage and got both. Sadly, we did tell you this in July 2022 and we told you NOT to pay it. You could have got ParkingEye to consent.
Trouble is, I'm not seeing that you have any reasonably arguable grounds to set it aside now, as you knew about it in 2022 and paid it, and didn't apply promptly then to set it aside.
The system is terrible. Parking charges should never affect people like this, and setting aside a parking CCJ should be easy and cheap (automatic). It isn't.0 -
You can't do that now. You are too late.
I looked back to the first posts here and my advice was very clear; I even repeated it twice and in capitals NOT to just pay it. I am so sorry but the set aside boat sailed.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So are you saying I've got another 4.5 years of insane car insurance quotes etc...? Does this punishment really last that long?Coupon-mad said:You can't do that now. You are too late.

Unless ParkingEye would agree to consent to set aside the CCJ in view of the fact you paid it in full. You'd have had more chance asking them that in 2022, and much more chance of the court rubber-stamping it then, too.
Worth a try? Email:

Can't promise they will actually do this 18 months later, as there's nothing in it for them. That was the 'leverage' that I was saying had been thrown away by just paying it off. This is why we said don't.
Even if they will agree and provide a Consent Order, we can't promise that a Judge will accept your application.
Be aware: I'm not seeing grounds. It's not automatic. Costs you £108 fee to find out.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Also, judges do not like "credit cleansing", which this obviously is. If you tried to get a set aside, what will be your excuse for waiting 18 months after receiving the CJJ? Anyone applying for a set aside must do so promptly.
Have a read of CPR 13.3 (2) https://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/procedure-rules/civil/rules/part131 -
This is so sad to hear. I lived with a CCJ for a couple of months and it crippled me in every aspect, mine even almost indirectly resulted in my business being closed down.
I did find paying for stuff like insurances for the year up front, rather than direct debit limited helped a little. Thats about as much as I can give you
I hope you find a way of getting through the next few years. I hope the people who are involved in these scams the very worst of them.
