I tried calling and emailing and nothing! So I tried! What happens now if I don't pay it then? I'm being told not to pay it so I'm confused. Does this definitely mean I'm too late? CCJ for 6 years?

What is the date of the judgment letter?  Did the judge actually state a date by which it must be paid?  If not, it is normally 30 days.  If you don't pay it, you could ruin your financial life for six years and have trouble getting credit or a mortgage or anything that requires a credit check to be carried out.   If you pay it, the CCJ does not even make it onto your file and, if you have a good defence you might even get it set aside, overturn the original claim and have the set-aside fee (£275.00) repaid.

I don't have a good defence. I just ignored the letters because someone told me that's what I should do. The letter says judgement fir claimant in default from the country Court dates 7th June. I've attached the letter here. I'm still confused if it's after 30 days and I don't have a good defence should I still not pay?

Bottom of the letter is the important point - "If you pay in full within one month..........."

Shall I just pay it and hope for the best?

If you pay it now, given that the letter said allow four days for payment to clear, it will be marked as "satisfied" not what you want.  Looks like a set-aside is the only option.  Maybe a call to ParkingEye on Monday to see if they will accept payment given it is only just a month.  Seems unfair that if it had happened when there were 31 days in the month you would have been fine!

Thanks for your reply. I am confused as a stand aside is basically you having a go at defending the original parking ticket? If so I got it as I parked in a private table tennis club car park with a view to joining and making enquiries but I couldn't find anyone to speak to so we walked around and waited a bit. In the meantime got a parking ticket. The owners of the table tennis club sent me packing twice.

So I'm confused, do I do the stand aside and does it involve a lot of time without any guarantees or do I just not pay it and have the CCJ on file for 6 years? Or pay it and have it showing as paid despite the 6 years?

There is no such thing as a stand aside.

Sadly, as I understand it, you ignored a court claim delivered to the right address - then didn't open the judgement order for a month?  You cannot get that set aside under those circumstances, as you'd have no grounds.  Not sorting this out last week, persevering and staying on the phone till ParkingEye answered the payment line has cost you dearly, I'm afraid.

You now have a CCJ for 6 years.  Paying it now would only mark it satisfied. It will remain on your record as a satisfied CCJ. So sorry.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I understand but I don't need constant telling off I just got bad advice.

So as I gather I have a CCJ for 6 years, I'll need to come to terms with that but do I need to pay it or not? Does it make any difference to my cause over the 6 years?
