A little grumpy just now.  Went into my Garmin Connect App and found an advert popped into the screen. 
First time ever and rather annoying given the app is the only way to use the Garmin devices for which we have paid handsomely.
I am wondering whether this is a one-off or a setting that I previously had disabled and somehow enabled ads.
Any ideas?

Will keep an eye out, but yes, it would be annoying.

Does everything have to be "adified".

Was it related to Garmin or fitness, or completely random ?

It was for a new launch Garmin watch.
It was quite well targeted insofar as, even though I deleted the ad immediately, I still visited the website to have a sneaky look.  Very desirable it looks, too.  Not at £500, mind.  Plus, my main Garmin watch is new still - well, only 3.

Well I suppose that's sort of OK, if they are only advertising their own products.   Obviously, if you've bought one, you may like another, at some stage.   Like you say, it "worked" on you!!    

I thought you were going to say it was for Washing Powder or something equally random.

The other week, it was the Venu 3, £500.  Looked fantastic but expensive.
Today, the Vivoactive 5, £250.  The update of my Vivoactive 3, so more logical for me, but it has fewer features (no floor count) than the current watch and the price seems to have more than doubled from when I purchased the current device.
Either way, I don't want to be so rudely interrupted

Those adverts that were bugging me seem to have been stopped by Garmin - I can't recall seeing any for quite some time.

I have another gripe now, which is the battery on my VivoActive being a bit odd.  So, today I ran a 1/2 marathon, except my watch gave up with just over 1km to go.  I had fully charged the watch overnight in readiness yet it still got more tired more quickly than I did.  I have not charged the watch but it now says 54% battery level.

Is there a solution other than buying a whole new watch?
