Scratch my last post, Google’s just shown me what a silly question that was ha haa!You have the same number of hours in the day as Einstein had. Use them.0
-
I've just played about in the app, and the answer is energy = 1 thing (g+e = 1) so you'd need 2 further things for a fix to appear.YoungBlueEyes said:I should probably know this as I'm with them, but what counts as a bundle for a fixed tariff? Is gas and elec counted as one - ie energy? So I'd need 2 more things..?
Edit - for the sake of completion, further messing about (adding 2 sims and boiler cover) has offered me this -
Gas - unit rate = 12.207 standing charge = 17.451
Elec - u/r = 51.461 s/c = 38.791
Called "Green Fixed 35" fix 'til 31/8/23, with a £75 per fuel exit fee. Low user paying by variable dd.
In case that helps anyone else thinking about it

OK, without the additional contract it would be a good fix.YoungBlueEyes said:

How much are the additional services and what do you pay for them. Can you get rid of an existing service, or are you just taking them to get the deal? If you really want them, how much more are you paying per year.
What is your energy usage over 12 months?
Are you able to postpone the start of the tariff nearer to October? 1st September or even better 1st of October?0 -
Forgive me OP, I've unintentionally taken over your thread.
I put those figures up as an illustration of what UW are offering now on that tariff, in case it was of use to any one. I don't know if switching would be wise for me.
I ticked 2 unlimited data/texts/minutes sims (1st is £18 pm, 2nd is £12pm) We're both with Tesco, we each pay £8 pm. I also ticked home insurance for £16 pm. I've just sorted home insurance for the new house and it includes boiler cover for less annually than that. So neither are a bargain.
My energy usage for the last 12 months to July = gas - 3703kwh, elec - 1019kwh.
I couldn't tell you about postponing a start date for that tariff, I didn't go all the way to the end with it.You have the same number of hours in the day as Einstein had. Use them.0 -
Ok, postponing will not work online, you will need to talk to them.
We have £14 additional cost for the mobiles (how fast can you get rid of the old contract?) plus £16 for the boiler cover, I assume you cannot get rid of the current cover?
So that adds up to a total of £30 additionally per month, or £360 per year.
Not very professional of me but lets take this 36000p and divide them by 4722KWh energy used in total. This increases the unit price by 7.6p
So electricity 59p and 19.8p. You can play around a bit for example 62p and 16.8p, more realistic, but no fixed tariff I would take.
It would look a bit better if you had to pay only the difference between your current boiler cover and the £16 they offer, but still not really great.
This would be different for high users, the additional cost for the "average" user would be only and additional 2.5p per KWh, but for you it doesn't make any sense.1 -
Thanks very much @pochase. Yeah I played around with the numbers, but I think I'm alright with what I've got.
I've just sorted the home insurance and boiler etc, cost me less annually than this would work out to. The sims are dearer for no extra benefit (we've already got unlimited texts/data/calls) so it would be paying extra for a fix to kick in.
It might make sense for others that are higher users though. You have the same number of hours in the day as Einstein had. Use them.0
