So the car has a 90 litre tank?  hmmmm.  There are a few that do but not many.

Which car is it?  Standard tanks are 55l many can be 70.  70 litres would be just shy of £140.
Clearly, you  & the three that thumbed you up know nothing re Mercedes GLE. Don't take my word for it look it up a mid 2 GLE, lol.
But a one second search came up with the item below but I know how much fuel it took but do your own search, lol
Enjoy your day and I hope its not hard, lol

Enjoy you day and I hope its not as hard as doing your research re Mercedes GLE

    Have a lovely day.

    • Q.

What is the fuel tank capacity of Mercedes-Benz GLE?

The fuel tank capacity of Mercedes-Benz GLE is 93 Liters.

    Dimensions Specifications of Mercedes-Benz GLE

    Doors:5
    Seating Capacity:5
    Fuel Capacity:93 Liters
    Boot Space:825 Liters
    Ground Clearance (Unladen):200 mm
    Wheelbase:2995 mm
    Length*Width*Height:4924*2157*1772 mm3
    All Specifications
From your posting style, I guessed it would be a large German car.    The GLE despite what you say is a largish SUV.  For your information, my sweet, I did look up cars with larger fuel tanks and the larger Mercedes did come up as did the Audi Q7. My point was that not that many cars have a fuel tank above 70 litres.  The standard tank for an XC90 is 68 litres, for example.  If the higher fuel cost of filling up the tank is making you cantankerous, then perhaps you should have bought a different car.

Oh and ask the mods to merge your threads.  I will in any case, as derailing the forum by using multiple threads is disruptive and inconsiderate.

Have a good evening and I hope you get to drive to a sweet, sandy beach sometime without having to pay too much for your fuel.
Let's get real, you are trying to justify your mistake along with those that thumbed you up. The GLE did take almost 180 quids of fuel and then when you challenged me I posted the evidence re gLE's tank capacity but for some reason, you are still in denial.
    Please stop digging, lol.

The £ is weak due to brexit. That's why despite the barrel price being lower than 2009, the pump price is much higher.
    Thanks.
So why is it more expensive in the USA and EU?
In some parts of the EU, the fuel prices are cheaper some more expensive.  The US has always been considerably cheaper than the UK for fuel.  Direct comparisons need care as their measure for gallons is different to the UK Imperial gallon.
Please read again my post. Nowhere did I call for a "direct..." not sure where you picked that up, perhaps you read someone else's post?
What I cleary said to the poster that claimed that "Brexit" was responsible for yk fuel rise was to tell him/her to look at the EU and then the USA and in every country the price has 2sky rocketed," not where did I compare the price of 2 per lt but clearly talked about the fact that prices were still rising in the EH etc so it could not have been "Brexit."

FYI, I did not vote as I did not know what to believe but it is clear now that us leaving was for the best.

I quoted your post.  You say that fuel was more expensive in the USA.  When anyone who knows a little would know that was patently untrue.

Last attempt by me - I said prices were sky rocketing  as in the EU
I said I put in almost 180 quids of fuel in dads GLE and I'm not sure why you said what you said and then failed to acknowledge the fact you was wrong as GLE have a massive fuel tank and not as you assumed.

I'll let you have the last word. Enjoy your day.

What mistake?  I didn't say there were no cars with no capacity above 70 litres, I said there weren't that many models with a tank bigger than this.

If you can use the car in an efficient way, then you don't need to fill it right up.  In fact you will get better efficiency if you aren't carrying the weight of 93 litres of fuel.

Try and lose the confrontational tone.  It makes you come across like as previously banned poster.  It also ruins the forum - just as starting several threads on the same topic does.

Local Tesco have cut 3p off unleaded this morning although still not cheapest.  School holidays start tomorrow so will have to see what happens to prices then.

Btw, just remembered. Last night on LBC or talk Radio after midnight before 1am I think when I went to bed they were talking to some expert citing that prices of oil have been lower for weeks and there was no valid reason for them to keep on going up.

It is profiteering.  I'm ok-ish as I have a simple car and don't need to drive to work etc but there are people that have no alternatives and their costs have shot up. In turn everything else is going up stoking inflation. the 46% tax needs to be reduced and oil companies need to be investigated and forced to compete as with the likes of major fuel outlet retailers.

Tesco in my home town is consistently the most expensive petrol station.  They do check other stations, when Morrisons put their price up, Tesco's goes up by a penny a litre.
