Cheap ASDA fuel is a thing of the past since the Issa Brothers/EG Group bought a share in ASDA. Now ASDA forecourts are the same high price as any other EG Group forecourt.

So the car has a 90 litre tank?  hmmmm.  There are a few that do but not many.

Which car is it?  Standard tanks are 55l many can be 70.  70 litres would be just shy of £140.
Clearly, you  & the three that thumbed you up know nothing re Mercedes GLE. Don't take my word for it look it up a mid 2 GLE, lol.
But a one second search came up with the item below but I know how much fuel it took but do your own search, lol
Enjoy your day and I hope its not hard, lol

Enjoy you day and I hope its not as hard as doing your research re Mercedes GLE

It's not Just the ones you refer to as I've never seen equal prices for standard deisel at Morrisons and BP as BP as times and more recently have been up to 14p more expensive. Smells like a closed shop to me but in reality, all it is one follows the other and no one wants to lower prices.

I'm glad my car is not a big SUV atm.

I generally fill up at the local Esso now.  Today 1.8p cheaper than Asda and 5p cheaper than Tesco.

From your posting style, I guessed it would be a large German car.    The GLE despite what you say is a largish SUV.  For your information, my sweet, I did look up cars with larger fuel tanks and the larger Mercedes did come up as did the Audi Q7. My point was that not that many cars have a fuel tank above 70 litres.  The standard tank for an XC90 is 68 litres, for example.  If the higher fuel cost of filling up the tank is making you cantankerous, then perhaps you should have bought a different car.

Oh and ask the mods to merge your threads.  I will in any case, as derailing the forum by using multiple threads is disruptive and inconsiderate.

Have a good evening and I hope you get to drive to a sweet, sandy beach sometime without having to pay too much for your fuel.

What, like a Mercedes GLE with a 93 litre tank?  It's not small.

I think the GLE belongs to the OP's Dad, so that's sweet that the OP could borrow that.  Surprised that the OP is justworriedabit about the cost of fuel for their Dad, who was the one paying as it was a borrowed credit card.

I wonder what the payback would be to swap up to a EQC or EQS SUV?

The £ is weak due to brexit. That's why despite the barrel price being lower than 2009, the pump price is much higher.
    Thanks.
So why is it more expensive in the USA and EU?
    It isn't

In some parts of the EU, the fuel prices are cheaper some more expensive.  The US has always been considerably cheaper than the UK for fuel.  Direct comparisons need care as their measure for gallons is different to the UK Imperial gallon.
