Why do we need another post on the same subject?

No signs of prices going lower at the pumps. Why not?
  • The £ is weak due to brexit. That's why despite the barrel price being lower than 2009, the pump price is much higher.

    Thanks.
So why is it more expensive in the USA and EU?

    More expensive then what?
Petrol in USA currently averages about $1.37, or about £1.12.

I suggest you take a little wander over to the investors and savings forum where this remoaner fantasy has often been dispensed with.

The US dollar traditionally rises in value in troubled times. This might be about to change, of course, but with the Ukraine in peoples' minds it's to be expected. That said, it is neither an excuse for the cost of petrol (the £/$ rate has been a lot worse at times in recent years) nor a reason. It's just one factor among many, the most egregious of which is tax/duty - hence the proliferation of Facebook posts showing the current price of petrol (in pounds sterling) at Morrisons Gibraltar.

Clearly I responded to the other posters comments that prices at pumps were higher due to "brexit."

I clearly and decisively countered that by asking why they were higher i the "EU" which you failed to respond to but mentioned the USA

I'm not sure if you checked price rises for one day but the other poster was clearly citing the event of brexit resulting in higher prices.

The posters statement falls flat o its face re EU &USA . Yours falls flat bang on its face even though you nit picked my post re USA

Clearly I was not talking about one day price rises, lol.
FYI and to confirm prices have rocketed in the USA see link

    Have a lovely day.

Incredible. Dad asked me to fill up his whilst I borrowed it today to bring some chairs.
He said fill her up and gave me his cc.
Dad often uses Morrisons but every second top-up he uses BP as he feels their fuel is better
    and treats the car.

I said to dad there has been a 10p difference between Morrisons and bP standard diesel - so we agreed if it was up to 5p
    diff I'd fill at bP

BP station comes first their standard diesel as has been for about a week, 199.9 then went to Morrisons, it was also 199.9 and only a few days ago it was just shy of 196 I think. Incredible.

Filled the car up cost just shy of 180 quid. - Had to pay twice to get a full tank as limit was 100 quid, incredible

So the car has a 90 litre tank?  hmmmm.  There are a few that do but not many.

Which car is it?  Standard tanks are 55l many can be 70.  70 litres would be just shy of £140.
