I had to delete my post, somehow I got it into my head they were goats, a complete ewe turn there.
Corduroy pillows are making headlines! Back home in London now after 27years wait! Duvet know it's Christmas, not original, it's a cover.

Go and speak to your neighbour and ask what the long term plans are regarding the sheep?  They may have escaped from a field and neighbour is just giving bed and breakfast until they are picked up.  Look at the sheep on the hills and fields, they don’t have a special place to sleep nor water troughs, sheep eat grass which is a wet substance.
Not true, The sheep in a field near me are given a water trough, Even had a water tap installed for it, A salt lick and some sort of extra grain daily, plus a shelter so they can stay out the rain and sun. This could be extra care as its usually 10 new born lambs and 1 or 2 adults.

I remember an article a few years ago about people slaughtering sheep outside their home in the street, halal style.
If the OP’s neighbours are Muslims then it is quite possible that the sheep have been obtained for Eid al-Abha which occurs early in July.

AFAIK it is only lawful to slaughter sheep at home if the meat is for consumption by the 'immediate family' who are living at the address.

Slaughtering in the street, or for meat for consumption by friends, or family not living at the address, would be unlawful.

How many people have enough 'immediate family' living with them to be able to eat two whole sheep?
    Big freezer?

We can get a couple of sheep in our larger freezer, no problem; we have one in there now and substantial amounts of beef and chicken too. People in the countryside with farming-related interests often exchange goods or use them as payment for services rendered, so a big freezer is almost essential.
Those two young sheep look healthy and well cared-for. They'll make a mess of any garden worthy of the name. although they are usually adept at avoiding poisonous plants they're familiar with, such as foxgloves, I wouldn't be confident they'd cope so well with laurel if they get really hungry. Hopefully, the neighbour is supplementing their diet with sheep nuts or similar.

    Big freezer?

The suggestion I was responding to was that the sheep had been obtained for slaughter for an 'event' rather than freezing for later use.

I am sorry I also think they are for Eid and will be slaughtered horribly.  In the late 80's  I went to a hotel in Tunisia and thought it was cute they had 'pet sheep' outside the hotel kitchen :(
