The law applies two tests - (1) the meat can only be consumed by members of the 'immediate family' and (2) the people have to be living at the same place.  Together these act as highly restrictive conditions.

You cannot give or sell the meat to family members who don't live with you, and you can't feed guests/lodgers etc the meat even if they 'live' with you.

I see thank you that's interesting. I guess then if the family sends the animal to an abattoir these restrictions wouldn't apply as the meat would be inspected.

I've really enjoyed this thread. Ewe lot are baaaa-my but great. "Temporary" seems a bit wooly to me though.

"woolly" lol my manager said that to me re one of my reports and I responded by saying, "at least it;s not total BS."  I felt the rage but I can never take rubbish.

I absolutely agree with the poster who mentioned how human-like a sheep cough is btw. It's as uncanny as how much a vixen sounds like a screaming woman.
