Thank you so very much.  I spent so much time yesterday trying to find word pad.  The video made it so easy for me.
I am 80 but don't really want my age to define me.
My daughter has been here this morning and has shown me how to open Office.  It is a hit and a miss whether I find my documents as they keep disappearing on me.  I had so many documents open.
I am glad to say that the letter I wanted to write has now been completed.  It was very important as it was regarding a contract for refurbishing a lift in the apartments.  We have a good company who have already refurbished 3 lifts and carried out the work to the satisfaction of all who live here.  The lease holder and the management company were proposing a different company.  They are a unknown quantity.  We are invited to make written observations in relationship to any of the estimates
The deadline is 4 th July so it is important.
What would I do with this forum.
    A sincere thanks to everyone.
    Sue

  • Hi,
you could create a folder for documents and save them all there.

Thanks again.  Incidentally the cost of the work on the lift is £68.000 a very substantial amount.  The difference in the quotes is £240 .We are more than happy to pay the little it would be shared by 44 apartment owners.
We are hoping that they will reverse their decision but as lease holders we don't have the final say in anything.
    Thanks again.Sue

Libreoffice or Openoffice are open sourced & free Microsoft office based alternatives. Download from their official sources and you can be confident they won't harm your machine.

Press the Windows key, type wordp and by the time you've got to the p the suggestions list has Wordpad at the top of the list, so hit Enter and Wordpad opens with a new empty document ready to go.

All this faff with Office or 3rd party software packages really is overkill, especially for someone who has openly admitted to not being comfortable with all this.

Probably a silly question but since it was only one letter could you not have used a quill pen ?
