Tesla are going to have to drop prices if they want to keep growing sales outside the US. At a lower price more people will be interested.

The US is effectively on pause due to the Inflation Reduction Act, which means if you wait to the new year you'll save thousands.

Or perhaps ditch Musk, he's !!!!!! off a lot of the traditional EV buyers and the Tesla brand is suffering because of it.
    An alternative view

“ You write, "Republicans are much less likely than Democrats to consider buying an EV." That’s true. And no amount of evidence is going to persuade them otherwise. It's tribalism. ("Can California's electric-vehicle push overcome the red-state backlash?" Dec. 12)

But, but, what if some extremely prominent symbol of the electric car industry became a right-wing hero by, say, taking over a major social media site and spouting all the things the Republican tribe loves to hear?

Might that not change the tribalism equation? Might that not make it cool for Republicans to "own the libs" by buying at least that figure's brand of EV?”

Used EV prices and demand soften reports Aston Barclay

The fall in demand and prices for used EVs in October and November has encouraged dealers to buy stock in the wholesale market during December.

The resulting Aston Barclay’s desirability index saw the Tesla Model 3 lead the way in December closely followed by the Renault Zoe, while the Nissan LEAF appeared in ninth place. The Peugeot e-208 made the index for the first time in 14th place.

    What is a GWM ORA?
They look quite funky but also an expensive small hatch with just under 200 mile range.  Is that about right?

Yes, that’s about right. It isn’t intended to be bargain basement.

Tesla Customers Are Getting Turned Off by Elon Musk's Twitter Meltdowns

    https://www.cnet.com/tech/tesla-customers-are-getting-turned-off-by-elon-musks-twitter-meltdowns/

I have seen a few of these types of stories but wonder, seriously, if people are cancelling their orders because of something Musk says unrelated to Tesla cars. Why did you choose a Tesla? Perhaps because you want a well designed efficient EV with access to the best charging network.

Or do you buy a car because of the brand image/what it says about you/your politics? So how do you feel about a car made in China? What is China’s stance on many of the issues that are the subject of Elon Musk’s comments?

If you can’t buy a Tesla because of your conscience, would you still consider a Chinese EV?

I don’t suppose many were expecting this reversal of fortunes.

    Comparing costs: EV vs ICE

    Total cost of ownership comparison

Although promotional material this article (which I came across from reference in Auto Express) compares the elemental costs of running EVs and ICEvs. Please note though that the article relates to February 2022 costs so is somewhat out of date in relation to fuelling costs.
