I am kind of thinking about buying a fisker.  Please could people talk me out of it!
You're a braver man than me. But, since you have V2G, and I think the Fisker does too, then ~100kWh of battery with all associated management, might be a decent buy at £18k, so long as the battery side doesn't get bricked by some technical issue (even if the driveability side does).

Thankfully all 25 have been withdrawn from the auction tomorrow (perhaps sold elsewhere?) so I have dodged a bullet :)

There were some competitively-priced ones on Autotrader when I looked at the weekend. Might still be an option?

I was hoping to get an auction one for about 2-3k less than autotrader with the advantage that it would be brand new zero miles, no previous owners.

Thanks guys. Just been to have a look at a pre-reg being sold by Kia. Nice looking, slightly smaller than Kona / Niro, but absolutely fine. Being the cut down version of the Soul, it's 'only' got the 39kWh battery, but that's fine for us as our second car, and will have a bit more range than the 28kWh IONIQ.

Caught me out of the blue tbh, it's ~£18k which is good for a new (24 reg 14 miles on the clock) BEV, but it is now discontinued. But at the same time, so is the IONIQ. Can't work out if it's a good car to consider, or one to avoid, as it's a bit of an anomaly (pre reg, discontinued, etc etc). But I've always been a bit of a fan of box shaped cars, as they are so practical.

@ET, had a nose around the Inster at the recent Everything Electric show. It's a lovely little package. Also got up close to some EV3's today, which I do thinbk look nice, and the seriously large EV9, which wouldn't fit in our drive, but looks like it could happily solve that by simply driving through our garden wall.
Think you could get a brand new MG ZS for about the same money on carwow.
Yep, and lots of 40kWh Leaf's too.
    The plot thickens!

We may be going full circle back to a Leaf, and giving my sister the IONIQ as her first adventures into BEV'ing.

Went to have a look at the new Renault 5 (throwback to my youth, when I tried to get a R5 GT turbo, but couldn't afford the insurance). But they aren't in dealerships till Feb/Mch, but looked great at the last Everything Electric show. Also checked to see if the Hyundai Inster was in yet, but not till Jan/Feb. May be too small, or perfect, not sure.

EV3 too expensive (too new), and just doesn't make sense atm.

Then on to view some pre-reg Leafs, to jog our memory on what they are like to drive.

Thanks to all those on here, who have said positive stuff about the 40kWh Leaf's over the years. We haven't actually, ever rapid charged the IONIQ, so even the CHADEMO charging isn't really an issue (I think), so leaning towards a Leaf return. Strange ole World.

Edit - loads of spelling orrers!.

Look at the new INSTER (which I'm guessing is the same platform as the EV3?  First ones coming through in January and looks like a lot of car for the money.

Yep, nice ickle car. Got to examine it at the Farnbrough show. Jack (from Everything Electric) was impressed that he can comfortably sit in the back behind his driving position, and he's about 6ft 5in.

More choice and options arriving to hopefully please more potential BEV'ers and their needs.

For the money depends what you compare against when you can get brand new Leaf 40s, and MG ZS and MG5 for less than 20k and MG4 for less than 22k plus big discounts from list on pretty much all the Stellantis vehicles with many below 25k

I'm about 5 months away from replacing the tm3, and looking at options.

I've not found the tm3 super comfortable on l9ng drives, but do love the supercharging.
Drove an EV6, and it drove OK, but controls for regen etc were a bit fiddly.
    Thinking of an EV3.
    But also considering a TMY.

The Tesla is about 80% great, 10% irksome and 10% infuriating.
Also the car would do 300 miles when new, now really struggles to get 270.
Tested it before at 100% to 0% and was basically 70kwh, now it's 63kwh.

Now an argument could definitely be made for me driving it several times, several miles after it's at 0%, damaging the battery, but i still find it disappointing that elons amazing battery technology has suffered 10% degradation in under 4 years and under 70k miles. Plus that's what the extra battery capacity is supposed to be there for right?

I do see more and more Tesla evangelism on forums, but it weirdly seems to come alot from people who have read about Tesla, not actually used one.
I see the powerwall gets massively hyped.. by folk who don't have one.

Ive mentioned a few times, its tried to kill me at least 3 times by either countering my steering away from hgvs that are wandering into my lane, or trying to follow lines in the road regardless of the roadworks diverting to different lanes (and ignoring the traffic right beside me).
I do love it's message after the attempted assassination "steering correction applied for your safety" or something very similar. No no, your correction almost caused a crash.
And yes I do shout at the screen when it says it.

It beeps incessantly at nothing which tends to make me ignore it when it's beeping for a valid reason, so that's not great, and I've finally given up on premium as they took Spotify off it.

But then I press the accelerator,  and I'd does make me smile, and the heating before you get in is really nice in our current weather.
I've also liked not having to carry keys, or lock the car for the last 3.5 years

    Hmm.

I'm about 5 months away from replacing the tm3, and looking at options.

AIUI - the TMY has the same seats and other pros- and cons- as the TM3.  The new TMY is along soon with the Juniper / Highland upgrade.  I am not familiar but someone I know says the biggest gripe with the absence of the indicator stalk is when needing to indicate mid-manoeuvre (such as roundabout).

I agree the interior of the TM3 could be better - it comes with what other manufacturers would describe as "comfort" seats and really needs an option with what other manufacturers would describe as "sports" seats.

    Supercharging is unbeatable.

When we purchased, the EV6 was far more expensive than the TM3.  We did like the Skoda Enyaq as an alternative, even more so than the VW iD models (but again is was rather more expensive).  My brother had a BMW i3 which he found was too short range and swapped out for Hyundai Kona EV - he initially sang the praises as really high quality and just as good as his previous premium-brand vehicles.  He is now finding that less than great and reverted to a Mercedes ICE convertible which will be the "toy" car once he finds a suitable EV as the "daily" car.

Had we not purchased the TM3, we'd probably have gone for the MG5.  Two things stopped us - very small price saving at the time for the MG5 plus the zero NCAP rating for the MG5.

I think I remain of the view that Tesla make the best "electric car".
There are other nicer cars, some of which happen to be electric.  The problem is, other "electric cars" are not designed as such but are just electrified as an after-thought.  That legacy will expire, one has to assume.

Sounds awful.  Have you considered a nice 3-series or C-class?  No problems with range and I doubt they'll make you crash. I don't think it matters if you run out of petrol either (and you won't need a tow).  ;)
