You can't take it with you if it's tethered.
You can if you try hard enough
I have wondered whether an EV would start and go into "drive" if it has a cable plugged in or whether there is a soft interlock to prevent this.
Given that there is a soft interlock to release the cable, it would be easy to have an interlock to prevent drive-away while plugged in.

Leaf will not go into drive with a charging cable plugged in even if it is not 'locked'
    I think....

    Nor will Tesla's.

Surprising figures from the SMMT today. Not only did BEVs lose market share year on year but volume also fell in a rising market. At the time of writing the SMMT news release was not yet out so we will have to wait and see what explanation they come up with. Meanwhile PHEVs were up 55.8%.

Edit: SMMT say BEV sales fell as last November was atypical with significant deliveries following supply chain disruptions.

BEVs accounted for 9.1% of sales to private buyers.
May link to the email I got from Tesla today offering an M Y for £3k down and 399 a month for 24 months 10k pa....

Presumably next year Tesla revenues will take a boost from selling credits against the 20% EV target to Toyota and JLR.
Hi, my bold - Not sure if this is interesting, but CT article expanding on your mention of the changes next year and the ZEV mandate.

UK EV Share At 25.7% — 2024 ZEV Mandate Already Shaping Market

Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

    Car Insurance Shocker!!

My car insurance for the Fiesta was under £200 last year.  So was the Focus.  Both are now gone.

The car insurance for the TM3 as a mid-year change was disproportionately high, but I put that down to being a change as much as the car.

I expected the premium to be higher than rock bottom that I had before, but my renewal has come through at £1,900  :open_mouth:

I am yet to do the shopping around but totally shocked at this type of premium being tabled  :(

I've just done a compare the market & mine comes out at £653 with an addition driver, legal cover, courtesy car, personal accident, protected NCD & a £750 excess (of which £400 was compulsory). The insurer was Churchill.

I paid LV £676 back in June.

When I replaced my old Fabia with an MG5 my premium went up about £100 but the new car is worth about 10 times more, so it didn't seem unreasonable to me.
