Not true - I called Octopus and signed up to Tracker v3 for Electricity and Gas on the 9th of June - should be switched on Sunday 26th. I am moving from Eon.next and Shell.SuperHans1 said:I then called up and asked about switching to gas tracker to be told that they have not been offering the tracker tariff to anyone for the last month.0 -
Will she wouldn't let me choose it today and you can't sign up via the website at the moment.brook_heather said:

I requested a change to Tracker on the 12th June and was changed over on 17th so they've definitely done it this monthBarnsley, South Yorkshire

I e-mailed last night and the response today indicated they were willing to change me over if I was happy to accept a smart meter. I'd suggest e-mailing them if phoning didn't work.SuperHans1 said:

Either that or it's a regional thing and they're accepting people in some areas but not others.1 -
For the benefit of the thread what gas rate did you get offered in comparison to rate shown online.?SuperHans1 said:Strangely the rates for the gas were slightly cheaper than those quoted online as well.0 -
Try phoning again, you'll get a different person. When avro went bust, talking to multiple people at Octopus helped me get my account set up within 2 months, I've seen some people on here were still waiting for their accounts to come through 6 months later.1

Unit rate 11.38p /kWh
Standing charge 27.22p /day
But after the call I ended up with this;

I enquired about the rates for electricity but they were the same as quoted online.
Considering I don't have to switch until September 30th I may well be better off sticking with Loyal Octopus rather than switching to Gas Tracker now if indeed it is available and I was given the wrong information.

Those seem really cheap. I've been given a fix of 41.98p for standing charge and for 41.7p unit charge... which is 48% higher than the variable rate.And for gas they are offering something that is 60% above the variable rate. So I'll just go on Flexible Octopus... and then in October I suppose I'll have to prostitute myself to pay the bills.0

Maybe, it wasn't clear to me whether his was electricity or gas. It still doesn't seem worth fixing to me at these prices, but they seem similar with every provider so not really worth switching either.
