You won't find it written down anywhere, but (at least so far) that's what has happened in practice for those on Tracker V1 and V2.Spoonie_Turtle said:Very interesting indeed - I would assume Octopus would honour their cap for existing customers for the term of the Tracker tariff, even if they were to replace it with a new tariff with a higher cap (or no cap at all). Looks like Tracker might be back into consideration after all.

At least no exit fee so we can always change back to SVT if Tracker terms are changed.
I'm kind of expecting a V4 fairly soon if the Oct cap predictions keep rising.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

For interest, my latest offer from Octopus, Loyalty 12m fix SE region. I calculate 42.1% above existing price cap.
Not that great but no exit fee helps. Think i will stick with the cap for now.

Cap has just been announced up to 51% higher for October but yeah it's a very tight call.alanobrien said:

Have you considered tracker? Apparently the v3 has a cap of 11p for gas and 40p for electricity and if they honour that and don't change it that could be the better deal?0 -
I made the switch to loyal 12m fixed deal
today, I called up Octopus and asked the switch to be delayed until the end of August and they said no problem, they put me down for the switch on 31st of August. I did my sums and based on Cornwall insights predictions I'd be saving £128. Plus having that peace of mind that if prices go even higher, I'm quids in even more. And leaving fees are £0, so can always leave if the situation changes.

You didn't fancy agile (electricity only capped at 35p kWh for one year) then gas tracker v3 capped at 11p kWh for one year as well (check with Octopus on this one)Ally_E. said:I made the switch to loyal 12m fixed dealtoday, I called up Octopus and asked the switch to be delayed until the end of August and they said no problem, they put me down for the switch on 31st of August. Cheaper standing charges as well
Might be a better option?0 -
I didn't realise they were capped for a year! It didn't come up as available tariff to switch to for me, do I need to call them up to get on it?Mstty said:

Where do you find that the 35p cap is fixed for 12 months?
They are giving a price guarantee of not more than 35p, but I cannot find anything that they cannot change this?0
