Indeed. Like I say, it is what it is, and what will be will be. Just another day in the office.

Or at home, or 'working' whilst reading a book and browsing on my phone at a beachfront café, in my case! This is fun and not work. I am a cynic & scam-baiter and this rogue sector is the biggest scam to bring under control. It is strangling motorists.
Your sector has been sussed by the ordinary man & woman years ago and you know that & have been fighting fires recently… e.g. a certain disgruntled tweet about a bike created much mirth with us. Sour grapes.

…can cause bicycles to fall over.
Still doesn't mean you can charge £100 or more. The industry will have to adapt.

The good things:- Must have cost ECP a lot of money so far
- Their protests were refused
- More expense to come
- Annoying the CMA isn't a good plan for the parking industry
- They tried to gag the regulator!
- 🎶 dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb 🎶
The bad thing:- that expenditure will have used consumers' money, taken from ordinary shoppers and people caught out by ECP's faded old machines & keypads day after day.
- Won't even dent the firm.
Wonder which PPC will be the first to be clobbered for consumer law breaches?!

@Coupon-mad I really hope the CMA doesn't turn into another Ofcom or Ofwat: weak, useless, unwilling to use their powers for the good of consumers and looking the other way to protect businesses.

The DVLA to a tee?

I very much doubt It.
Having only got their stronger powers in 2025 and having commenced a very visible 'consumer drive' against hidden pricing I think they will already be looking closely at this sector.

Ofwat had quite strong powers in the beginning, but just look at what they are now.
I hope the CMA sees that and says "We're not going to copy those buffoons."
