What's your point?
I don't know what that little emoji at the end is supposed to mean, are you trying to imply I'm stupid?

It makes no sense going to London to suffer extortion. The closest I get is Heathrow
If £160 becomes the norm, high streets will die and many more will go bust. It is pure greed and councils need to understand that when high streets go bust, they lose the revenue for rates
Maybe greedy people / councils should reflect this
If the £160 spreads to private parking firms, people will seek out retailers where the vermin are not present …… in my area there 6 such car parks owned by smart landowners who understand that parking companies do and will drive customers away and that means retailers go bust and then there is lost rental
Private parking tickets should be set at £50 and no added scam charges

And IMO the amount companies charge for parking needs to be controlled.

Don't think this shocker has been posted
A scared 86yr old woman asks her son for help as she didn't know how to stop the parking operator's demands for money. She'd paid the £40 pcn then a further £70 as Horizon said her pcn had escalated.
Her son Erik said: "Mum believed she was in serious trouble and felt she had no option but to pay further sums simply to make it stop.
"This was not a case of someone abusing free parking. This was a loyal customer shopping for dinner, parking briefly, and being left frightened and out of pocket because systems were unclear and responsibility was deflected."
Erik claims that the retailer repeatedly denied owning the car park — despite Land Registry records showing otherwise — and placed full responsibility on the contractor.
Horizon said: "We can confirm that we manage the car park at Co-Op Pangbourne on the instructions of the legal occupier of the land.
A spokesperson for Co-op said: "Co-op has been in contact with the customer’s family on multiple occasions
• Co-op has apologised for the incorrect advice given to the customer with regards to land ownership and has ensured that feedback has also been provided to Horizon Parking, who manage the car park
• All signage in the car park is correct in line with British Parking Association requirements
• Co-op has ensured that all store colleagues are aware of the car parking policy
• We can confirm that the customer has received full reimbursement for all costs relating to the parking fine."
As far as Erik is aware, his mother has yet to be refunded all of the money she is owed.

Ed Sheran's town suffering too.
'Useless phone signal and parking app are killing our town'4 -
"they cannot connect to the internet."
"I think the signal needs sorting first before these machines are put in."
It really is quite astounding the 'expert' parking operators and council didn't seem to think this was something to be taken into account before implementing this change. Absolute incompetence from these service providers the public deserve better.
