Fury as two more airports Glasgow and Aberdeen increase drop-off parking fees to £7
https://www.thesun.co.uk/travel/38181579/airports-hike-drop-off-parking-fees-to-7-pounds/
UK pricing has been compared to several large European airports, including the Paris Charles de Gaulle and Frankfurt airports, where short drop-offs can be free for limited periods.
Airport drop-off fees didn't feature in this past BPA blog:

Glasgow was already £6, so it's not as if they're doubling it or anything. And there is a free drop off/pick up area too (as I recall, but the paid area is very large and easy to use so that's what I normally use. In fact that area used to be free for EVs but that seemed to have been withdrawn last year).

I'm not surprised about Aberdeen - I used to live in Aberdeenshire and the public transport out to Dyce Airport is absolutely abysmal.

UPDATE on this article posted in Dec:
The council insisted a decision has not been made over the management of a city centre car park despite Horizon signs appearing on site.
And now the consultation is closed….Horizon signs erected during the consultation can stay
The council said this will deliver an improved leisure experience for visitors to The Quays “Using an ANPR system will help make parking and using The Quays much easier and less hassle for our visitors."
But concerns have been raised this could lead to drivers inadvertently picking up pcns, with comparisons made to recent experiences at nearby West Quay Retail Park.

No doubt it will be approved and then coming to all private car parks near you in due course:-
"However, the AA has described the request as an alarming overreach. Luke Bosdet, the organisation’s public affairs officer, warned that if ministers approve the plan, councils outside London may follow suit, effectively bursting what he called the dam that has kept parking fines at current levels since 2008."
"The Government has yet to confirm whether it will grant the request. If approved, BCP could become the first council outside London to permanently align its parking penalties with those in the capital, potentially setting a precedent for authorities nationwide."

It has always been a nonsense that PCNs are cheaper outside London.

Has it? Why?
Bet your industry loved that biased 'report' which when you read it, doesn't actually assist your lot. BCP were clearly so disappointed with some of it that they tried to bury the bits that didn't support their agenda.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Because it makes no sense, there is no logical reason for PCNs to be lower outside of London these days.

Londoners should pay more. Because they think they're special.
If London were to disappear, everyone else would say "And nothing of value was lost."

Am pretty sure ‘Londoners’ venture outside of London on a regular basis 🤦🏻♂️
