With this MEGA scam at Stansted, why the BPA abd DVLA should take action and terminate MET parking
It also means that the DVLA are making money from a scam1 -
A new Dad collecting his partner and newborn baby gets a "scam" PCN from ParkingEye at a hospital:

Colchester Hospital have had to step in after PEye reportedly refused to cancel it, despite the NHS Car Parking Principles covering this EXACT 'delay in patient discharge' scenario that was clearly beyond the motorist's control.
Does the penny never drop with NHS Trust landowners that issues like this are VERY distressing for most likely vulnerable people (hospitals not being a destination of choice) and they aren't one-offs, so why the flip aren't their horrific patient-attacking parking contractors complying with the NHS Car Parking Principles in the first instance?
The BPA must be so proud.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Pick-up points are not intended for parking. The operator was correct to issue the charge and decline the appeal as users should only pull into the facility when their passenger is ready to be picked up i.e once the patient has been discharged and is ready to leave (which was perfectly within the drivers control). Otherwise, the area would be clogged up with people loitering inside depriving others from benefiting from the facility.0

Wow. You do realise new mothers aren't allowed to just wander out on their own? They generally have to be collected by someone and a suitable baby car seat carrier checked/seen inside the ward area, if they are being driven.
He had to go inside to escort her!
Luckily the Hospital are scrabbling to cancel it even if ParkingEye couldn't be bothered. Not familiar with these guidelines?
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nhs-patient-visitor-and-staff-car-parking-principles/nhs-patient-visitor-and-staff-car-parking-principlesContracted-out car parkingNHS organisations are responsible for the actions of private contractors who run car parks on their behalf.
NHS organisations should act against rogue contractors in line with the relevant codes of practice where applicable.
Contracts should not be let on any basis that incentivises additional charges, for example ‘income from parking charge notices only’.
The 2015 Health Technical Memorandum 07-03: NHS car-parking management: environment and sustainability provides further advice on providing parking in the NHS.

This is the equivalent of saying that a driver must somehow magically place a visitor's permit in their vehicle before entering the car park instead of giving sufficient time for them to collect it from the resident, a process that might easily take more than 10 minutes.
Thankfully the landowner has seen sense and cancelled this unfair charge notice.Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:
'All nations attending the conference are only allocated one parking space.'5 -
OMG Kaizen that was such a silly reply you clearly have no idea. I won't repeat what Coupon-mad has said just add there was parking at this maternity pick up point..30mins.
Your thoughts and ParkingEye show your industry should never ever be managing parking in hospital settings.
You'll actually find alot of people 'loitering' in hospital areas!5 -
It perfectly straight forward: 1) the driver parks in the car park along with everyone else 2) the patient is formally discharged, they can remain at the bed or similar after discharge 3) the driver collects the car from the car park and moves it to the pick-up point 4) collects the patient (there will be no delay as they have already been discharged) and drives off.0

Shocking. I'm sure the MHCLG will add this to all the obvious reasons to bring this out-of-control, heartless, sector into line. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
