Parking stories in the News/media

Hurley seems to be adopting the role of representative and spokesman for the industry. Leaves questions about where Pester and the BPA fit into any media profile. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The BBC news website has an article about the 'five minute rule' that still refers to penalties and fines. Sloppy reporting that gives the impression of some sort of pseudo authority to the IPC & BPA. Hopefully they will both be hoisted by their own petard in the not too distant future.3

Tomatoes v TomAtoes.... Joe Public still thinks a Parking Charge is the tariff, so the F word gives context (in media only)

Yep I don't mind the word 'fine' when used by journalists. It grabs attention and makes sense to the non-PPC-fighting general public.
Nice job by Simon Williams of the RAC:

This from some West Sussex Facebook pages:
ASDA LANCING PARKING:
"Good afternoon,
I work at Asda Lancing and I have just spoken with my manager about the issue of the parking fines.
He has asked me to relay that this is a serious error due to a fault with the parking eye camera installation that was originally intended to tackle dangerous parking on the double yellow lines. (Clueless, ASDA*)
He has it confirmed that the camera has now been switched off until the fix is in place which should be in the coming days. There will be no more incorrect parking fines generated from now.
He has said he will cancel all parking fines that come into store that were due to this fault. He says please DO NOT pay these fines and is keen to reassure everyone not to worry.
He has asked parking eye to recall incorrectly sent fines and that a letter is sent with an apology explaining that no further action is required.
Please can everyone inform friends/relatives who aren’t on social media, particularly the elderly as not to cause any undue alarm to them.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Thank you"
