And the hospital should demand in future Parkingeye conducts a "further review" at the time the motorist appeals not only when the media publishes a damming report on it.
"After the BBC drew its attention to the case, Parkingeye conducted a "further review" and subsequently cancelled the charge."
Easy to see why a Govt appeals service is so desperately needed.5 -
"During this time there has been investment in modern consumer-facing systems which has enhanced accessibility and made parking at the hospital easier and safer for staff, patients and visitors," they added. The system was helping to "ensure the efficiency and smooth operation of the hospital".
I'm struggling to decipher this jargon, but I'm guessing they've put in new ticket machines where you have to enter your reg no and ANPR cameras!4 -
It makes no sense whatsoever but landowners keep falling for the ParkingEye spiel:
1. enhanced accessibility
2. makes parking easier and safer for staff, patients and visitors
3. helps to "ensure the efficiency and smooth operation of the hospital"
4. Yadda yadda about security
5. And the usual classic: "stops boy racers and people parking their car for a week".
NONE OF WHICH is achieved by ANPR.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What could possibly go wrong again (at least the few "comments" posters have got it right):-"Cornwall Council is proposing to lease 28 car parks to a private company as part of a £2million savings initiative, which could see drivers lose free parking facilities. The plans would see the selected car parks removed from the current parking order, which governs local authority parking management across the county.""Despite concerns, Cornwall Council's scrutiny committee has endorsed the car park transfer plans with several key recommendations, including a two-year break clause. The committee called for Cornish MPs to jointly lobby the government to authorise councils to use ANPR equipment in their own car parks.""The committee also recommended investigating direct ANPR deployment without private contractors.A final recommendation focused on negotiating a "reasonable grace period" before fines are issued with whichever enforcement company wins the contract."5

UPDATE on Rosey Hudson case :Excel car park operator dropped its £1,906 court claim against Rosey who took more than five minutes to pay for parking."The BBC contacted Excel Parking and asked why the case was dropped, but it has not responded.""Neither Miss Hudson nor Mr Kay have received any explanation from Excel Parking about why their cases were discontinued."
DCB Legal the company that relentlessly pursued Rosey on behalf of Excel Parking, "has donated £60 to the Teenage Cancer Trust at Miss Hudson's request, in lieu of the first PCN she paid." Aww they're all heart.
Excel Parking and DCB Legal are responsible for inflicting 21months of unnecessary stress and worry on Miss Hudson but IMO the shame and guilt has to lie with the bodies and individuals who allow this practice to occur and/or turn a blind eye to it.9 -
I wonder what the landowner thinks - whoever they are.6
