Glad it's a Labour MP, because there may be a fundamental reaction to go the other way should it have been a Conservative MP. Let's see if there's any response.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

£1,906 bill over five-minute parking rule

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2k0qlpjgk2o

Rosey Hudson said she was unable to pay while standing in the car park in Derby due to poor signal on her phone. She walked to where she could get connected and paid the full tariff every time she parked.

Two MPs - Lola McEvoy and Abtisam Mohamed - have previously written to Excel Parking with concerns about people being unfairly fined at other car parks it operates.

The two parties had telephone mediation on 11 November but a settlement was not reached.

"Hopefully the judge will understand my case and see my point of view."

Rosey, if you're reading this, I'm sure they will!

The latest update on this one is that after a "drop hands" offer DCB Legal have discontinued the claim with no conditions attached.
Good news. Excel knew when to quit.
  • ITV News spoke to one of the sectors’ leading spokesman, Will Hurley of the International Parking Community.

He said: “There is no benefit to misleading signs. Ultimately, as an industry we want to make parking forgettable... you must meet a certain criteria which deals with their content, how clear they are.”

The new rules affect all new signs and mandate changes to existing ones.

Around a fifth of parking fines are dished out around Christmas, and, for many who get one, unclear signage is a problem that has itself been parked far too long.

Some awful and advice on what to do if you see a confusing sign....I mean in a way we need to report them to BPA, but to what end. Also what is 'being done' to make signs clear. See below - failed to mention that the timelines for updating the signs is a long way away!

The new Code tightens the obligations on private parking operators, ensuring signs at the entrance and within the carpark are clearly visible and have all the information drivers need.
Nobody should take any notice Of Will Hurley of the IPC
One cannot forget that the IPC was set up by Hurley and Davies, Gladstones solicitors.  And the IAS was set up as a scam where very few people got a fair hearing.

And now Hurley wants to become squeeky clean by sharing a COP with the BPA.

The new code shows complete failure by the BPA and IPC and  really means nothing because there is already a government COPin law albiet on hold becaude the monwey scammers objected ???

What is the point of the IPC/IAS, THEY have a membership of money scammers. Government should terminate the IPC as they are not fit for purpose and that would get rid of the likes of EXCEL/VCS unless the stupid BPA wants to take them back

I guess that when Starmer decides to concentrate on the UK's biggest scam instead of flying around the world using our money.

Get RID of the IPC and you will get rid of the worst money scaammers

    Rayner ... do wake up
