ParkingEye doing their thing at hospitals again. I can't bring myself to repeat the comments about the parking improvements they think they have made.

Another version here if you (or your devices) don't get on very well with the first link, which I found does annoyingly jump about when reading:

    https://www.lep.co.uk/news/people/surgeon-hit-with-ps70-parking-fine-while-visiting-royal-preston-hospital-for-training-course-4226480

"A surgeon visiting the Royal Preston Hospital for a training course claims he has been unfairly hit with a £70 parking fine.

The doctor, who asked not to be named, said he had been visiting the hospital in May and had paid the £3.50 car parking charge. Despite following the rules he was later sent a letter by parking company Parkingeye ... notifying him that he owed £70 for failure to pay before leaving the car park.

Parkingeye have challenged the date of the surgeon's concession ticket."

...even though they know he is a surgeon who qualifies for concession.  What exactly do they suggest he was doing on the material date if he wasn't authorised, do they think he went there to abuse the car park?!

"Unauthorised trespass, so pay us £70?"

This is cloud cuckoo land and a classic example that supports the DLUHC Minister's view that the sneaky, labyrinthine systems and charges used by this disgusting industry are 'designed to extort money from motorists'.

ParkingEye - cancel the PCN, for goodness' sake, and why not just clear off out of Hospitals and Supermarkets altogether?

    Do you have no conscience?

Do you not agree that this crap (and your self-serving whining about it, even though his bank statement reportedly shows that he paid) bears all the hallmarks of profiteering?

YOU AND YOUR ILK DO NOTHING USEFUL IMHO, AND ANPR SURVEILLANCE IN CAR PARKS WHERE THE PUBLIC ARE INVITED (AS HERE) IS EXCESSIVE, UNNECESSARY, AND NOT WANTED OR NEEDED BY MOTORISTS.

IMHO you do more harm than good and this case is yet another to prove that ANPR systems at NHS Trust sites are set up as PCN-generators, which inevitably penalises and piles more pressure on genuine staff, emergency arrivals, out-patients and visitors.

ParkingEye you are named and shamed.

POPLA are also named and shamed.  Industry-serving BPA-blinkered rubbish is seen from POPLA time and again, so no wonder the Government are replacing it.

POPLA is funded by and was set up for the industry and ludicrously in their remit, they "can't consider mitigation" which prevents them from making real-World common sense decisions and ignores the Consumer Rights Act 2015 mandatory test of fairness.

Royal Preston Hospital you are also named and shamed for listening to the ParkingEye suits' propaganda spiel about 'ANPR rich data' and falling for it like clueless idiots.  How about engaging your brains and considering whether this operation is as 'safe and improved' for Hospital staff, patients and visitors as ParkingEye told you it was?

Pity PE are not IPC AoS members becuse WH would be much more ....erm....don't really know:-

    https://hubpublishing.co.uk/parking-does-not-need-to-be-an-accident-waiting-to-happen/

"There is no magic wand and it will never be possible to keep everyone happy all of the time when there is insufficient supply to meet demand.  But there is no benefit to be gained by being heavy-handed or turning a blind eye to the practical and very real needs of visitors and staff.  And, there’s certainly no convenient carpet available to brush things under. However, there are ways to minimise many of the parking issues being experienced by Health Trusts around the country."

(Above is next to the picture of ANPR camera with the following description:-
"The latest generation of ANPR technology is being used to great effect to provide effective monitoring and enforcement of parking facilities on private land and to maximise convenience for motorists.")

Lincoln woman demands answers after 'opportunistic' parking fine overturned

"UKPC claimed in a letter that she had left the site while still parked there, but Jan says she only spent 45 minutes visiting HomeSense and Pets.  Undeterred, she successfully contested the ticket and the charge was dropped, but she still wants answers from the firm.

For more than seven years, The Lincolnite has been reporting on issues related to parking fines at Tritton Road retail park, which is run by
    UKPC Ltd.

Throughout this period, the company has remained elusive, often failing to provide a statement, including by the publication of this story."

The BPA must be so proud...

Disabled guy on benefits gets a CCJ and pays £277 to DCB Ltd for the heinous crime of stopping for 2 minutes at Doncaster Sheffield Airport (is this VCS?):

    https://metro.co.uk/2023/07/20/worksop-disabled-man-fined-after-stopping-on-double-yellow-lines-19161037/amp/

Delrich said he was ordered to pay £277 according to a notice of intended enforcement action. He paid Direct Collection Bailiffs Ltd £277 in May this year.  Mr Mazarello, who is now on benefits, said he is disabled due to a birth defect on both his knees.

‘I stopped there for two minutes. Not more than that. I am sure of that”, he said.

‘I put my blue badge on the screen, then put my phone on charge and this happened within two minutes. I have my GPS already programmed to my home address.  And then I saw a guy who started filming me. I just started my GPS as normal, removed my blue badge, and then asked him if he was filming me. And then he said it was an offence.’

Hoyland market area is still blighted by aggressive parking charge companies using ANPR unfairly.

A LOCAL councillor has hit out at a company for handing out ‘disturbing’ fines to disabled residents despite them having their blue badge on display:

    https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/25766/parking-firm-blasted-for-disturbing-fines

"Councillors have been inundated with complaints about the level of fines imposed on motorists who unwisely entered the car park realising charges were in operation so left. Then received a fine.

Some entered their registration into the meter and paid the £1 but received no ticket but still got a fine.

The most disturbing thing is that the vast majority of people fined were disabled drivers who placed their blue badge in full view as required.
Despite these concerns being put forward to Resilienti, the only action the company has taken is to introduce new signs saying disabled people will be charged."

That developer sounds as bad as any parking firm, as they called the Council "a joke".

    Meanwhile,
Smart Parking are coining it in, to the clear detriment to the High Street and local drivers.

BPA: Is this joke operation something you'd describe as "driving up standards"?

Notorious Park Tawe named & shamed again:

    https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/parc-tawe-parking-fines-odeon-27367042.amp

The PPC is Eternity - named & shamed.

Centurion Tawe Ltd are also named & shamed as the landowners/agents responsible for the mish-mash of rip-off operations at the car parks because of this UTTER DRIVEL:

A spokesperson for Centurion Tawe Ltd said:

"Looking at the data, it's down to user error. Please be careful entering your registration. People are taking videos [of them registering their vehicle] because they are so convinced the system's corrupt. But it's actually really easy."

    Errrm, Centurion Tawe Ltd:

    ... LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS!

How about investigating these allegations properly before speaking out as yet another apologist for scum PPCs, did you stop for a single minute to listen to what you are spouting on behalf of your money-grabber?  Didn't you engage your brains and wonder whether all these drivers are actually making keying errors - or could it POSSIBLY be the keypad system is at fault or set up that way?
