Hi everyone,
My mortgage broker sent the following update from Halifax:The case requires a review by our Credit Decisioning team
• Valuation will be instructed the case is agreed by the Halifax Underwriting team. If we are unable to instruct the valuation then we will issue an update email to advise.
Has anyone else received this message before? Does anyone know how long the credit decisioning team takes?
Sorry, I’m a first first buyer and was previously declined by Nationwide so I’m over here stressing!0 -
We had an update that the valuation and survey has been delayed, not sure why but it's now booked for Monday 27th. Mortgage advisor says we will probably hear back a week later so got to continue with the waiting game here!!rdchick said:Tomorrow is today Trakky! Hopefully by Monday you'll have an answer!!

What did your broker say? That sentence doesn't actually make sense but i would read from that that they will instruct the survey IF the underwriters are happy, so that needs to happen first. Are you self employed? We had similar and the valuation wasn't instructed till the underwriters had been looking at our case (self employed need more checks I'm told).Kitkat8967 said:Hi everyone,

that right then, they will instruct a valuation if the credit team decide favourably, i think its fairly typical. Saves them paying someone to go out and do a valuation, they are saving themselves the bother until they know you are ok! I think that is what happened with us as our valuation was booked after the underwriters started looking at our documents...so hopefully if the valuation is going ahead that means you're likely to get approved (well subject to valuation).Kitkat8967 said:

I think some banks instruct the valuation immediately and others wait till they know if the mortgage is likely to be approved, I think halifax tend to wait reading other posts on here. Hopefully you will know soon, its an agonising wait!Kitkat8967 said:
