Get on to your broker! That doesn't seem right! Ours has been mad fast, we were declined by Nationwide last Monday and today we might hear back from our valuation/offer from Halifax... Hopefully. I would expect we would know but the end of the week 🤞🤞

Your broker should be keeping you updated or have given you clear timelines when it comes to a period of waiting.
Mine always does and it helps so much to keep stress levels down. Drop them an email and see what they say.

I have done, he took the payment weeks ago I'm not sure why we haven't had the valuation yet. My husband is self-employed so I imagine it takes longer, at this stage I just want to know the valuation is ok as we've had issues before with a house being undervalued...so until we know that I'm worried!

Last communication from him was that they didn't give an idea of when the valuation would be (last week). Fingers crossed something happens soon so we can book our survey! We are waiting in case the house isn't valued what we have offered! We have some wriggle room on LTV but need to see what they say before we chuck £900 away in case!

Just for context, our broker submitted our application on Thursday, money was pending from my account on Thursday, on Friday we found out the valuation & survey would be today (Tuesday) and our broker advised that you would usually hear back about the valuation / mortgage outcome within 24 - 48 hours (if application is fairly straight forward).  Ours will be a little delayed now due to also paying for a survey so they will need to write a report etc.  But point is, you have a right to be informed about timescales and know what to expect  deffo worth a little chase I think. Sending my best wishes to you x

Thank you, they replied to say tax calculations submitted were in the wrong format so my husband has just resubmitted those...but no idea of timescales etc! I will ask again,

update, valuation has been instructed, will be carried out in the next few days all being well!  :)  I'm hoping that means the underwriters are happy (ish) as my husband is self employed...fingers crossed.
