Amazing @Deedee23!! Congratulations! You have a similar timescale to us!

It's weird to go from checking my email multiple times an hour to now not worrying... But I'm keeping track on here until Trakky gets their mortgage!!
Oh yeah we do. Now to get solicitors to start their bit. Was holding off until we got the offer

Does anyone know if Halifax do another hard search between offer and completion? As we need to book flights and would like to do it on the credit card for the protection but scared it'll mark on our file (because my luck is terrible) and they'll override the decision 🙈😆 if this is a thing we'll either do it in cash or get someone else to book them for us!

    Thanks!

Can anyone tell me what interest rates they are getting for Halifax mortgage? I am seeing 3.38% as generally their best offer, and most other banks probably gone the same way since the recent BOE rate increase. Having spoken with their team they are the only bank that has made an effort to look at my payslips and overtime etc before actual application and given me a good idea what is realistically borrow so I think if I ever get an offer accepted I might go with them.

Haha thanks!! I hope the valuation has actually happened either yesterday or today...unsure when it was! Broker said they would do the report in 24-48hrs then it goes back to the underwriters for sign off...so I guess sometime next week. The waiting is killing me!

I think they all can - For prudence I'd say use someone else's card or just your debit card - you'll always have the chargeback option if it goes a bit iffy but would you prefer a couple hundred pounds going iffy or a six figure mortgage going iffy?  :#

We got our offer!!! The broker forgot to tell me on Friday...apparently it was approved then!  :smirk: Thank goodness!
Timeline for us was....self employed so took a little longer as extra paperwork needed.
    Offer accepted 25th May
Broker sent off paperwork 14th June (finally!)
Valuation was due 23rd June, cancelled as they wanted to do an in person valuation.
In person valuation done on the 30th June
Mortgage offer was ready on the 1st July.

So took a while but we got there :-)
