Anyone had any luck with Wizz getting a re-imbursement or compensation. Our flight was cancelled 3 hours before it was due to leave palma with no offer of anything. We paid to fly back with TUI. Thanks

Hi
I flew back from Palma with TUI on 3 May after Wizz cancelled my flight. No luck with compensation, money for TUI flights or refund for Wizz flights yet. Has been over 70 days since I submitted a claim. People on webchat say they can't help with compensation. I'm not paying to go on hold on phone.
Wizz Air is useless when it comes to customer service. Am genuinely shocked how rubbish yhey are. Webchat woman just said she couldn't help and disconnected chat.
I have no idea what to do to get the money owed by law.0 -
Did you submit your claim using Wizz's online forms? I've heard claims don't get processed if not submitted through this route.
Somewhere you'll find an email address on their site - but again you'll need to make sure you use the right one for complaints and compensation which I guarantee will not be easy to find.
Personally I'd send them an email with a deadline. Beyond that you I guess you could think about using the dispute resolution service - there is a link on the Wizz Air Complaint page and / or small claims court.0 -
Hi, first time user, I hope this is the correct way to ask a question - by joining an existing airline thread, huge apologies if not.My Wizz Air Flight from Gatwick to Naples (x3 passengers) was cancelled a few hours before departure on 17.07.2022. Although no reason was provided on the actual cancellation email, the day before Wizz Air had warned of an Italian Air Traffic Control strike that 'might affect our flight'. However, they continued to send emails about checking-in and baggage etc. I understand that I will not be eligible for compensation. As soon as I was notified I called the call centre and was advised that I would be eligible for a refund. However, I asked to be re-routed as we had an 8 day holiday booked via AirBnB. The agent said no Wizz Air flights were available and 'it was not possible' to book me on to an alternative airline the following day (BA were flying to Naples on 18.07.22). The agent said I could accept the refund and rebook myself on an alternative flight and claim the difference from Wizz Air with receipts. This advice was repeated the following morning via the online live chat. Again, no alternative Wizz Air flights to Naples, Rome or anywhere else in Italy were available for 7 days. I was advised that a refund was possible and I could claim back the difference of the available flight from BA. I took screenshots of the chat and lack of availability of flights (Wizz Air do not provide a chat transcrip to customers). Therefore, I booked 3 seats for 18.07.22 via BA (LHR to Naples) at considerable additional cost based on their advice. I have submitted a claim, online, via Wizz Air. Do you think my claim will be sucecssful as receipts were provided and I have also submitted evidence of zero opprtunity to rebook with Wizz Air? I could not afford to not to take the refund as this has been used towards the costs of the BA flights.Thank you in advance for your thoughts.0

There is a chance that as you accepted the refund, you may not be eligible for the cost of alternative flights payment. It is a disingenuous tactic employed by all airlines to dupe you out of the alternative flight option.Did you actually get the refund yet?Did you book the alternative flights and submit claim before you accepted a refund? As an aside, did the strike actually happen? If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

Yes, naively, I accepted the refund as was just so desperate to reclaim our money to put towards expensive flights to salvage our holiday whilst following their advice. The refund has been processed, initially via Wizz Air credits, and then refunded to my card following a further request.I believe the strike did go ahead, but I will check. It is a good question to ask as the cancellation email does not specify a reason.0

Then you maybe due compensation. If the strike didn't happen, then there is no EC.I had a successful claim against EJ 6 years ago for a similar occurrence. If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

How long from your claim did it take for the money to paid to your account?0 -

Hi MKPINN, the refund to my card was very quick actually. 3 working days. I did have to prompt them via the live chat though.
