Easyjet flights for 15th June cancelled - Refund taken but am I entitled to any compensation?

Flight for this Wednesday has been cancelled today, have taken the option to get a full refund for both legs of the journey.

I've read the compensation guide and am not sure I can claim any compensation, it says I can claim if cancelled within 7 days but continually talks to compensation depending on the replacement flight time but no alternative was offered, so just took the refund.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

If you weren't offered rerouting then you're entitled to compensation, provided the cancellation wasn't due to extraordinary circumstances beyond the airline's control.

Yes you may be able to claim compensation from the airline - depending on the reason given for the cancellation.

Thanks to you both for your response.

No reason given at all, just said it's cancelled, so I'm assuming that this is due to lack of staff to run the flight but do not know.

Will wait for the refund to be processed and then will make a claim.

My son has just had Easyjet flights cancelled for this Thursday, no alternative offered and I'm the same as the OP here, all the guides base compensation on when your alternative flight is scheduled.
Is there any advice on how to claim if no alternative flight was offered/available

As with OP above, if your son wasn't offered rerouting (i.e. an alternative flight) then, as well as a full refund, he's entitled to compensation, provided the cancellation wasn't due to extraordinary circumstances beyond the airline's control, so he should submit a claim to EasyJet accordingly.

My son and his family have flights booked to Kefalonia on 1st August, accommodation booked separately (non refundable). If flights are cancelled with no alternative, would he be able to claim for the total amount lost re accommodation,  or is it just a fixed amount?

If the flights are cancelled 14 days or more before he departs then no compensation is due .
If the flights are cancelled with less than 14 days notice he may be entitled to claim a set amount of compensation ( depending on the reason for cancellation)

Any other losses would need to be claimed from travel insurance if his policy covers abandoned departure . ( Not all policies do )
