Why the huge price difference? I get the VW crafter EV will have a serious price premium, but that's a lot of money for fitting. I can't imagine you'd be doing anything that'd involve moving batteries around.

Considering an electric Vivaro is about £40k, that's a lot of money for fitting it out.
I don't see a price on an e-Crafter as it seems to still be a concept thing.
I know fitting them out is expensive, I am guessing £50k+
It would be a massive change to go electric, our workshop is struggling at the moment, buying 50 electric Crafters would put a spanner in the works.
It will take years of planning, no one is willing to make that decision

I don't know exactly what fitting you're doing, but I can't see how the drivetrain would have any impact on them beyond maybe weight restrictions. Most vans have the same body regardless of whether it's ICE or EV, so anything done above the floor would be identical.

It would need different mechanics, the charging points would take up more space in the yard and some drivers take their vehicles home.
We have a few car sized vans, but no large ones that I am aware of. Our refuse wagons have an issue with their weight, large batteries may make this issue worse
