You are already with an electricity supplier - to find out who enter your postcode here:
    https://www.energynetworks.org/operating-the-networks/whos-my-network-operator
and then setup an account with them (on the standard variable tariff).

You use the supplier that is already supplying the premises. You need to take opening reads from the meters (gas, electricity and water) and report these to the existing supplier for energy and the relevant water company.

After you've been with this supplier for 21 days you are then free to change.

If you want to stay with a SVT then only EDF and Octopus might take you on. Other will only accept you if you take a fixed rate deal.

So click on the link for Electricity North West and then find the link further down for

    Who is my supplier?

I find my Gas supplier through https://www.findmysupplier.energy/

If you're in Electricity NW region, then for electricity use https://www.enwl.co.uk/forms/who-is-my-supplier/
If it's a different region there will be an equivalent page for the transmission area you're in.

Thanks! Yes British gas are indeed my supplier from the link you provided. But as I said before I allrady looked that one up and British gas can not be contacted, so I am at the mercy of British gas when they decide to terminate my electric supply

They won't terminate your supply -  that's the whole idea of deemed suppliers.

Write to them by snail mail (get proof of posting)  - give them your  meter reads.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
