Lost My Phone - No Access

There seems to be confusion here.
I dont have my phone on me -
My phone has all my bank cards linked to it -
When I go to iCloud, it says we will send you a verification code.... to your number, which I dont have and awaiting sim.
Again, everything is centralised to a mobile phone/your number.
someone just said 'why would I need a new pin' - all my pins were on my phone and they were all different. I didn't change them. That is why I need a new pin.
Using online banking, trying to change my information or anything like that, the bank said we will send you a code to your phone or you can call us. Yes I can reach out to someone else and use their phone if worst comes to the worst.
The original question was if banks can create a new card in branch to make life easier to get there and then. If they can excellent. If they cannot I will clearly have to wait the 3-5 days along with taking out cash over the counter....
What I'm saying really isn't that complicated or complex -0 -
Can you let me know when you have devised one as I would struggle toowiseonesomeofthetime said:With accounts at Monzo, Chase, and Starling, I suppose I better start devising a back-up plan in case I lose my phone. No branches to walk into there, and I could be anyone online, or over the phone

Normally if someone loses their phone they still have their debit card to use, so it isn't a major issue.Ebe_Scrooge said:
But what about if they walk in armed with driving licence, birth certificate, passport, council tax bill and a gas and electricity bill, all in their name? I take your point entirely - but in this day and age where so many folk rely on their phones for everything, someone losing/breaking their phone must be a far from unusual occurrence? I'd have thought most banks would have some sort of set procedure in place for dealing with such a situation?p00hsticks said:dranzer01 said:
You say id find it hard to prove myself to someone in the branch.... how would that be?p00hsticks said:I'm not 100% clear as to why the OP needs a replacement card after losing their phone, but assuming it's been blocked because the OP has reported their phone as missing, then with no phone, no bank card and not being able to remember their online banking details they're also potentially going to face the problem of proving that they are who they say they are to the bank staff either in a local branch or at the end of a telephone or internet chat service .....So do you know your bank account number and sort code ?Even if you do, it sounds to me like you're thinking that you can walk into a bank branch and say something like'Hello I'm dranzer01. I have a bank account with you. I don't know the details, don't have my bank card, can't remember my online login, don't have the phone that is registered with you, but please can you print me out a new bank card and pin that I can just walk out with now and start spending on ?'Somehow I think that's unlikely to happen....
But it seems the OP has assumed they can go away from home without their wallet and manage.0 -
I assume they gave you cash not a new card and PIN?Ergates said:
I've walked into a branch of my bank after having lost my wallet whilst on holiday, saying (effectively) "Hello, I'm Ergates. I have a bank account with you. I don't know the details, don't have any cards or any other ID. Can I have some money please?" And they helped me.p00hsticks said:dranzer01 said:

You might not know your account details, but you will still know your name, address, date of birth and probably some details of your accounts.
I've done the same in the past (it meant trying to remember what 13 year old me put as my signature!) and got £20 cash from the counter.
But I expect getting a new card that can be used multiple times may require more security checks compared to cash which is a one-off.0 -
Perhaps not store PIN's on phone. Far better to have them all the same, or a couple you can remember & not store the numbers (fraudsters are good at sussing out codes)dranzer01 said:There seems to be confusion here.

Barclays do cards in branches at 150 out of 1600.
Lloyds do not from a search neither do Co-op. Which given you have internet access is a easy thing to do.
Life in the slow lane1 -
When I get a new phone I keep the old one as a spare handset and sell on the previous spare to Cex.
I have an old Tesco mobile PAYG sim which is (somehow) still active.
May have helped in this case, not fully of course but partially?0 -
OP probably needs his bank card to be able to do that…..Bridlington1 said:I would get a new mobile phone and sim card as soon as possible. Then go into branch and ask them to update your phone number. I assume if you go in with ID and proof of address and explain the situation to them they should be able to do that for you. From there you will be able to reset your internet banking login details online and from there report your card as lost or stolen and order a replacement card and pin.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
I recall a time when all I had was a cheque book and a paying in book.0

Just cash, yes. It was a small branch though so they wouldn't have had the ability to print a card even if it was something that could have been done. It was the RBS branch in Obanjon81uk said:

Might be a bit late now but the most important thing to do (for Android users) is to know your Google account details. You can then use "Find my phone" - so long as it's still powered up.0
