How can I get one of these cards
I didn’t ask for this design it just arrived as a replacement for a card that expired at the end of May.

I was fully expecting it to be this design.

Which I got for one of my accounts back in 2020.

I guess you’ll have to try your luck and see which one turns up.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

I did try asking Santander this and they couldn't specify who would get which card (e.g. which you would get if you were a new customer vs which you would get if you reported your card missing).
I’ve ordered a new card on seeing this thread I’ll report back what design I receive. 👍

This may seem a pedantic point but these cards, if still made of PVC, even if recycled, are not 'eco-friendly'.

By being 85% recycled plastic they are merely a little 'less eco-unfriendly' - using less energy and less new plastic but, ultimately, it's still non-biodegradable plastic that will end up as waste eventually.

But Santander say they are also using corn-based cards, which would be far far better than these.

Why do so many vertical cards put the logo at the end where it will be upside down when you put it in your wallet?

Because that's the bit which protrudes when inserted in to most chip and pin devices.

But it's when you take it out of your wallet you need to identify it, Horizontal bank cards, driving licenses etc normally have it on the top edge so you cab identify the card in your wallet.

I'm not sure that's the reason it was that way, I think it was more to do with it being the default for printed stationary of any sort (letters, business cards, cheques etc - logo/name always top left).
