Hi,
The site recommended Barclay Card Rewards for overseas spending because :-
No fees on spending or ATM withdrawals overseas
- No interest on cash withdrawals if paid IN FULL
I have a Rewards card and checked with Barclaycard.
There are fees and interest charged on cash withdrawals.

No, those fees don't apply to the Rewards card. Ignore any generic Barclaycard info that applies to their cards in general.

I am prone to pedantry but sometimes you have to go there to prove either yourself or the opposition case. Here is a snap shot from my Rewards Card from 201921 Jun 011 Supermarkt de Flaasblo, Chaam £11.5112.50 Euro, Netherlands,
Exch Rate 0.9208
Incl Non Sterling Trans Fee of £0.3322 Jun 003 Rabo, de Zuidelijke £92.13100.00 Euro, Netherlands,
Exch Rate 0.9213
Incl Non Sterling Trans Fee of £2.67The first being a normal payment by credit card in a supermarket and the second a cash machine withdrawal. I did not get charged interest on the ATM cash withdrawal but there was a fee for both transactions. Please point out my numptiness. Cheers0 -
I have a Barclaycard rewards card, and like you I read the t and c and asked the same question. I have since used it in the USA and not been charged any fees0

The Barclays Reward credit card does not incur fees - except any imposed by the ATM where currency is withdrawn..... which are taken from any card used.

Those non-sterling fees are certainly mysterious. Are you sure it's the Rewards card that you have? Do you get the cashback? I think you need to ascertain this with Barclaycard customer services, and insist on finding out the reason for such fees which should definitely not be incurred if you indeed have the Rewards card. Raise a formal complaint if they fail to resolve.

Sounds quite possible.I vaguely recall there was confusion a few years ago caused by Barclays referring to a Barclaycard Platinum Travel Card and a Barclaycard Travel Card - and the former was the one with no fees abroad. That then evolved into the Rewards card ?0

I have a BarclayCard Cashback Rewards and this does charge fees. The Barclay card Rewards one apparently does not but of course you can only hold one barclaycard at a time. Too late for me I am off next Tuesday. Cheers
