Washing Away My Debts By 2024

Well, I did wonder if your current company would make a counter-offer to try and keep you, but they have left it quite late. Looking at the 2 scenarios above I think it's important for you to understand your childcare options. Not sure how old your children are (if you've mentioned it, I have forgotten - it's my age!) but you need to be satisfied you're doing your best to take care of them, not just with more money for you all to have a comfortable life.
I would be inclined to leave, providing you can get appropriate childcare arrangements that will work for you all. The commute isn't that much longer and sometimes a half an hour in the car an help you decompress after a busy day, just singing to the radio. The additional holidays need to be factored in too, are there any other benefits you've not covered such as discounted offers for employees or an increased pension contribution? I am a strong believer that you shouldn't have to threaten to leave to get a pay-rise, a company who values you will pay what you're worth without you having to beg.
What does your partner think?

Thak you for your input @LittleMissDetermined as always
I managed to speak to my recruiter early hours this morning and she chased up my worries with the new company. Their response back was everything I needed and more to confirm my intentions to leave and start a new position with them. They said they are very family friendly and are more than happy to accommodate me arriving late to work in the school hols and to finish early. They said I could use as much or as little of my holiday as I needed, or I could take it unpaid or I could just work through my lunch or work overtime to catch up. Plenty of options! I also asked regarding the sticky childcare period (Wed/Thurs/Fri) between Xmas and new year and they said they are more than happy for me to work from home if I choose to or request it as holiday even though I am not technically allowed to take holidays during my probationary period.
So all is well and I am once again very excited to start my new adventure. As much as the salary increase is important to me, working for a company who understands the need for employees needing to tend to childcare issues once in a while is far more important, so it looks as though I have struck gold

Have read your diary from the start and cheering you on with all your achievements.
As ever you have looked at the pros and cons, probably why you are so good at your job, and found the issues and then the answers you need. Well done you - and I completely understand how hard it is to tell a boss that you are leaving especially if they've been good to you but sometimes you outgrow the job. I won't half look stupid if you decide to stayLD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Glad your new company has been able to set your fears to rest and they are just as accommodating. Onwards and upwards to your new adventure! As you know, we are all very much invested in this decision

Well its Friday! Thank the heavens as it's been such a long week. Still at home with a coffee instead of arriving at work as my son has their year 6 residential assembly this morning. Booked it off work yesterday as I don't like to miss any special assemblies or performances with me being the only parent
Shall head to work afterwards.
It's two weeks until my last payday from my current company and one week until my last day! My manager pulled me to a side yesterday lunch whilst nobody was about and told me that although the company could manage to match the salary offered to me from the new company, they would not be able to fulfil my wants and needs of broadening my job responsibilities and giving me more exposure to management accounts. In my head I breathed a massive sigh of relief as this was what I wanted to hear just to make things so much easier. I thanked him for trying anyway and now I know its 100% confirmed I am leaving next Friday. I am so excited to get out of where I am and get my teeth stuck into everything in my new positionSuch lovely bubbly people too which makes all the difference in a workplace! I am not the easiest person to get along with, purely because of what damage was done in High School. I'm an antisocial introvert who is perfectly happy being left in the corner whilst everyone else giggles and shares life stories. I feel it's safer for me emotionally to stay disconnected and at arms length. However, in this interview both the HR lady and my future manager were so uplifting, quirky, witty and funny that for the first time in a very long time I actually felt right at home enough so to join in from the get go. They matched my personality which comes out normally when I am very comfortable with a person so this to me was the extra sign that I NEEDED to work here.
I have decided to put my studying on hold temporarily as with me starting a new job I want to put my full focus into absorbing everything. To add to this, because I have a 3-month probationary period, naturally there is no study support and with me clutching to pennies being in between jobs and trying to tie things up so no bill falls through the crack, I don't have any spare income to fund my December exam. Definitely tempted though to put it on the CC if I find out I have failed my PM exam on Monday morning as a resit will be easier to study again for in the last 6 weeks compared to continuing a brand new syllabus.
Made another small PAD of £1 to my CC1 potI am collecting this money plus my round up money and each time I reach a round figure, normally £10 I transfer this across to my CC1. Almost getting impatient holding it all in the pot when I want to see the CC1 balance go down weekly!

That's a relief for you, I bet you can't wait to get started at your new company! Sounds like it's definitely the right move
