Afternoon
Today is my last day in this office! Less than 3 hours to go! My manager has given me a 'diabetic' goody bag instead of alcohol because I don't drink. Very thoughtful of him! I shall be sad to leave him as he has been a good manager
Normal PAD made of £1 to my CC1 pot. Not sure if I will continue this after the 25th November as I plan to just make a bulk overpayment on my new payday eve's. I have spent the last working day on a beautiful week by week budgeting spreadsheet. I love it! I have 5 columns all representing 7 days from the day of being paid through to payday eve. All symmetrical and colour coded and I love it. I am able to see what cash I will have at the end of each week in my bank and what remains on payday eve ready for dispersing to my mortgage, debt and reno work. EEEK cannot wait to start using it. I am trying to get as many tabs set up for each period as possible so I am fully organised when I start. If I spend anything other than my standard daily in and outs, I simply add the extra spend to one of the spaces for that day and all the figures adjust accordingly for the remainder of the weeks. Did I mention its beautiful?!I also added a tab for my mortgage overpayment schedule and my credit card repayment schedule so I can play about and update figures as and when needed. It's a finance freak's dream! Good job I am an accountant! x

Just caught up with your journey Squirrelz and it sounds like things are going to plan.I'm glad Arwen is recovering and hope you enjoy getting stuck in to your new job. I'm the same as you and would rather be busy than sitting around with nothing to do.It's a shame about the exam result but, echoing what others have said, I'd go for the March resit. Firstly, it's funded so that's extra money to be paid off some debt, also it will give you time to relax into the nex job and then think about revision rather than having to rush it all at once.2

Best of luck for your first day tomorrow! I am glad that you left on a positive note with your old workplace and I'm sure the sugar fest will come in handy being so close to Halloween.
That spreadsheet sounds amazing and I may pinch some inspiration as I am still working on designing a spending spreadsheet, which I will do after I have completed my monthly budget tracker.
Glad that Arwen is on the mend too xxDebt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

@Squirrelz92 So exciting starting your new job! I hope it has gone well for you. I love the sound of your spreadsheet. I too am a bit of a numbers freak, sadly hasn't helped me to stay debt free, but we won't go into that here
Anyway, just wanted to pop by to wish you well & I look forward to reading about your first day & catching up on your new debt totals at the end of the month.1 -
Your spreadsheet sounds very fancy, mine is very basic and does not sing or dance but it works for my needs even though it is a bit clunky
Al though its sad that you did not get a pass, its good that you have made the decision to defer exams until next year, that will give you a better quality study, and time to settle in the new job and to get Arwen through the rehab.
Only 4 and a bit weeks until your payday, then you can start to rebuild the pots and be ready for the new repayments and savings going forwardsCredit card debt - NIL

Morning folks, what a fun filled week it has been! I have been meaning to reply to everyone this week but I have instead been busy decompressing from my first week at my new job and making the most of not having the minions about for 5 days
Many thanks @cybertortoise, I do think its best for me to divert my next exam sitting to the March. This way I will have it fully funded by my new employer and I will be comfortable in my new position.
HI @Keedie, many thanks for your good luck wishes! More than happy to send across the template if you would like? Might not suit everyone but it definitely works for meShall have to remember to take all of my figures out before sending
Many thanks for stopping by @no1disneymumA good spreadsheet goes a long way for me in terms of staying accountable. Sorry this hasn't helped you as much as it does for me
Hopefully you have a variety of methods which are working well for you!
Hi @SusieT! Like you have mentioned already, I am counting the days until my first paydayCan't help it! Excited! It's great to hear your spreadsheet works wonders for you! Love messing about with the design and structure of it all.
So, what a week! First off, I love this company. They are so welcoming and friendly. They have been nothing but supportive and accommodating. Everyone already values me and what I am here to do which is a massive confidence boost and makes me feel part of the team. One bombshell delivered to me though was that the senior finance business partner left the company shortly after interviewing me which left no finance team at all on the site. This didn't deter me from the position or the company, it just made me panic a little about how I would receive my training. I needn't have worried though as I have had numerous Teams calls with multiple Finance Directors from the main site down south who have been nothing short of wonderful in helping me get to grips with everything, One of the accountants from the main site decided to drive up north to teach me thr weekly accounts in person for a few days which is so lovely considering its over 3 hours away! They have asked me to travel down south to stay for a few days to meet the wider team at the main site and to continue to my learningThis is so exciting as I have never travelled for business before (all expenses paid of course) so hopefully my Mum can come up for a few days to look after the kids during the school week so I can disappear for a few days. It has also been decided by the directors at the main site that not only do they want me to do the weeklies, they also feel that I am more than capable of putting together and presenting the month end accounts. On top of that, I am now supervising the assistant management accountant which is an incredible addition to my experience and CV! Super exciting to work here and I cannot wait to learn anything and everything about the company and do my best!
Next up, the period end financial updates! I shall do this on my lunch break
Thank you all again for your support on this journeyx
